@samueldavids37042 жыл бұрын
Well I’ve been going on about this for many years now. We use fancy buzz words to make ourselves feel better and put down other countries but reality is we are anything but free. Allow me to make a few points: (1) we are “free” to select only one of of two parties to run our country. This process is also not straight forward and neither of the two parties are that different anymore. (2) we have abandoned traditional religion and adopted a new world religion in liberalism. It is enforced in school, work, and daily life around all social areas. This liberalism is pushed and deemed as absolute truth without evidence, and tricks the population into believing it is free to make choices when in reality the system is conditioning us from a young age to think a particular way (hence why today we have a huge problem with other countries who have stuck to traditional religion). (3) the media is biased. Not just every day bias either. I mean extremely bias. It influences more than movies and tv show. People are still debating, reviewing and criticising tv and movies, but the news is mostly taken as face value and passed off as factual the moment it hit the screen. These are just some of the points and IMO reasons why this country is a dangerous place right now. While other countries are honest about who they are… this country is dishonest and we live in a deluded bubble thinking we are better than everyone else.

@@normanclark933 not sure what a Larrikin is but I guess I've got the definition now, given what you're talking about. Sure maybe that's a stereotype and maybe even an earned one. Plenty of horrible and rough morality examples in our history, no need to even dig very deep. It's seldom the ordinary folk setting those examples, though. And I don't know the temperature of the entire country of course, nowhere near it. But I am familiar with what normal looks like around me personally, and there are a lot of bad aspects to it indeed, but people being what I would consider ridiculously overaccepting of this sort of thing? It’s unacceptable but not surprising. Every MP who elected Johnson as Leader and by default PM knew that he was totally immoral and possibly corrupt. He allegedly acquired funding and privileges for Jennifer Accuri when he was Mayor of London and rumoured to be an ‘intimate friend’ of hers. Him trying to get Carrie a six-figure sum job and the dodgy funding for the redecoration of his No 11 flat is just par for the cause. Matt Hancock and Neil Parish both fell on their swords because of unacceptable behaviour which pale in comparison. Johnson breaks the ministerial code but refuses to accept the consequences, he truly is ‘Mr Teflon’ and until the Conservatives choose to recover the moral high ground and ethics they traded in to support Johnson he will continue to get away with abominable behaviour. He believes he is above the law and his cronies condone him. I don’t think he believes he has done anything wrong, his ego and sense of entitlement is an inherent part of his personality. Shame on him, shame on his party and shame on mainline media for not exposing him. Unfortunately the media prefer easy targets less able to defend themselves.
