Not trying to start a row here, just genuinely asking your opinion. If police suspect that a 15 year old girl has hidden illegal and/or dangerous items or substances on her person, what should they do? Is it the manner in which it was done, rather than the action itself, that you object to? Is there a 'right' way of doing such a thing? Or should 15 year olds be allowed to conceal drugs/weapons without risk of search. Again, I'm just asking, not necessarily disagreeing with you. Also, I'm an Irishman, so how the London police behave is of little consequence to me (although some Irishmen were mistaken in thinking that in the not too distant past!)

@michaelashley53802 жыл бұрын
also, cannabis for some kids is self-medication against what they face in their real lives (i used to be a teacher and school is not real). The problem with the education system is the teachers are in the main by well-meaning but ultimately middle-class people who are trying to pass on their middle-class values to working-class kids. So drugs are bad and you involve the police straight away and defer to them - especially if you are a white middle-class teacher. Whereas if you are working class, the only reason there are police is to keep you in line and pass out crime numbers when you are assaulted or burgled. (unless you happen to be a Russian oligarch, or wealthy because thats who the police are for.).

I'm not saying they all need to be sacked but the people in charge of sacking this teacher didn't see anything wrong with their actions either. The entire system was built on classism and racism and policies that protect and preserve those traditions. Why did no one ever teach this teacher what's acceptable and what's not? Why were their beliefs never challenged to get to this point? I have so many questions but only if I focus on the larger picture and not this quite horror teacher.
@brynleytalbot7782 жыл бұрын
Above the teacher is a manager. Over them sits OFSTED. To have such a policy in action reveals the actions of those two layers. When ethics and morality are devoid in the structures ruling our educational establishments this is the result of the imbeciles in charge. That the teacher simply followed a flowchart to action such a process isn’t an excuse but it exemplifies the attitudes of those in charge and the inferred consequences of breaking their authority. This also applies to the actions of the police. What is inexcusable is that those responsible for implementing such policies will escape public scrutiny. Obedience to authority was examined by psychologists after Adolf Eichmann claimed, in the Nuremberg Trials, as his defence, that he acted to safeguard his own life fearing the consequences from those in charge over him. What we witness nearly eighty years later is the rise of woke management seeking to appease the chattering classes. This time their stupidity is exposed for all to see. It’s about time we threw out the dross whose only attribute to rising above their dim wits was to fit socially and obey those above them, without question.

Here the police and state are connected, this shouldn't be in a democracy, police and government should be separate. In 2005 a Brazilian man Jean Charles da Silva e de Menezes was on his way to work as an electrician. The police shot him dead because they thought he looked like a terrorist. The woman in charge of the operation went on to become the police commissioner, no police were charged with the execution of Mr de Menezes. When any inquiry is opened by the government about police behaviour, you can bet on the result. The prime minister partied while demanding the country was in lockdown, the police guarding him and his ministers, stayed silent, the enquiry is a forgone conclusion and the pm and ministers are still in post.

@@skullduggerysmiles8393 decentralization isn't better, just different. Because each state sets their own policing policy you see a lot of fragmentation. Hiding bad behavior is much easier.
