When something grows it naturally extend equally in all directions which results in a round object. A thing which grows into a different shape is more complex for it needs an extra ability. Round works perfectly fine for most. Also the surface area of a round object is the smallest option. Its not just fruits.
@Tomsplaystion Жыл бұрын
Also, fruits tends to be sweet, which make them food for all sort of animals, the rolling thing therefore only aplies for seeds. Fruits ripen on the plant and most squash when they fall to the ground. A garderner whould surely know that. Ever had an apple or pear tree? In dutch we have a saying 'the apple doesnt fall far from the tree' I think you do aswell in english.

Apart from the fact its wrong!, Fruit by definition contains a seed(s), the edible part of the fruit being a "carrier" for the fruit to entice it to be eaten, henve the seed is also consumed and excreted a a viable entity later on, that ensures dispersion not "rolling" Iwould profer the the reason most fruit being roughtly round, is that its predominantly water and as the plant develops the fruit it expands and the natural shape of any unconstrined expandng body is spherical

The moon question annoyed me. It's NOT a miracle at all. The Moon is "Tidally Locked" where the pull of the Earth's gravity is so strong that it slows down the Moon's rotation causing 1 rotation of the moon to be pretty much the same length as it's orbiting around the earth so it's moving around the earth as it's turning causing the same side of the moon to always be facing us. It's hard to explain without a physical example but imagine you and your friend are in the school playground (As kids, if you're an adult then you will be arrested) but you stay still and your friend moved a couple of meters way from you and starts to walk around in a circle around you while still looking at you. from your point of view it may look like the Moon (your friend) hasn't rotated however if you take a pictures of your friend from above with a drone as they're walking around you. You will see that when they are to the south of you they are facing north, when they are to the west of you they are looking east, when they are to the north of you they are looking south and when they are to the east of you they are looking west. They have complete 1 full rotation in the time it took them to orbit around you. Before you ask. We do not do this around the Sun because we are far enough away from the Sun not to be Tidally Locked. If i'm not mistaken Mercury might be Tidally locked and therefore does the same to the Sun the Moon does to us.

Welsh surnames - They came from first name of their father. Hence me, son of Tom Jones. USA, end of slavery - many adopted name of their preacher, who were Welsh chaplains and plantation foremen.
@jackvalior Жыл бұрын
The moon is more or less tidally locked to the Earth. Because of gravity and how the moon was formed, which involves a lot of math, the moon rotation around the Earth is the equivalent to a coin going round and round a drain. The one face of the coin itself is always facing the whole in the drain, which is Earth in this case. The other face is always on the other side.

We all know 96% of the population don’t have to pay inheritance tax and 4% do (that’s because with the Tories NOW you can give or receive up to £1M inheritance tax free) the £1M is called the threshold ( Labour’s policy is to make everyone pay 40% inheritance tax, no matter how much you give or receive) by reducing the threshold to Zero (so if your house is worth £400,000 and you die, you’re kids only receive £240,000) this will effect 100% of the population ( how can I get thick Labour supporters to understand this basic fact ) please help.
@bandit2048 Жыл бұрын
Interesting. Here in France inheritance tax is paid at quite low levels. A child can inherit estate up to 100,000 euros beyond which tax is paid. The revenue is doubtless a great part of the french government's income.
@TBakerXD Жыл бұрын
So long as that tax is being used on national infrastructure or public services like the NHS, and not being secreted away to Tory donors through nepotistic contracts and shell companies any more, I'm alright with that
@sitrombone8 ай бұрын
You probably can’t explain it to ‘thick Labour supporters’ because most of what you wrote is unclear and incomplete. The threshold is £325,000, after which a 40% tax is applied. If you give away your estate to your children this threshold can be £500.000, or to your spouse then the threshold can be added to their IT. Labour have no plans to change this, however will reinstate these rates if the Conservatives abandon IT. By the way; ‘your kids’ ‘affect’ It’s a bit strange to be criticising ‘thick Labour voters’ when your grammar is so poor.

The moon is subject to gravitational tides and this has brought the rotation of the moon and the Earth into synchronisation with one another. The size and tidal draw of the moon may be the reason that the Earth has retained liquid water and developed life. Or you can use the Anthropomorphic principle to argue that everything has been designed, perfectly to allow me to answer the question - but that makes the universe a bit me centric ( This could be true and Copernicus was wrong)

I like the way James engages with his audience normally, but he was very harsh with the questioner about the moon. Very harsh and dismissive of someone who just wanted to be part of the show. If he listens to this questioner again he will notice the shyness this man’s voice presented and shock in his voice at the harshness of James’s reaction. It’s his show he can react how ever he wishes but I thought he was better then this as he normally has far more compassion and understanding at what it means to some of his listeners to be listened to , and to be listen to by James.
