@@saattlebrutaz There is a difference between playing songs to a classroom and holding teaching the Bible in classrooms. The first amendment of the US Constitution is freedom of speech and of Religion. Going as far as to say not to put one Religion above another. Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Atheist, and Christianity are all different Religions with different beliefs and even different religious texts they read from. To teach the Christian Bible in church is NOT American. It is indoctrination.

From what I understood in the video, the immunity seems to have been included in the curriculum established by the Commission, NOT in statute, which would be ultra vires and thus nul and void. Further, immunity is for torts committed in the exercise of some duties, to preserve the indépendance of a particular actor

Literally just found this channel the other day but he is one of the only people who I've ever been exposed to, that honors the true spirit of Christianity. Personally, I'm not a Christan and do not identify as a Christian even though I was baptized as an infant and grew up attending a Presbyterian church when I was younger. I couldn't handle the way the principle virtues of love that true Christianity embodied were warped by men over 2 millennia to serve themselves and their ambition, and whether in good faith or not, allowed it to become the very antithesis of everything the movement originally stood for. I doubt I will ever identify as a Christian or a person that subscribes to any singular organized religion... but the bedrock teachings of love above all else that are the foundations for true Christianity, before it was incarcerated by written word, are why this faith is so beautiful and integral to my moral core. I don't know if I've ever personally seen someone truly understand the spirit of this religion as I knew it could be, until I stumbled upon James and this channel, and I'm thankful I did

I got chills when he mentioned considering the experience of a Hindu child at a Texan school. I was that child. My parents came to this country proud to live in America and to contribute to the American spirit and work ethic. They also treasure the Hindu beliefs they brought with them across oceans. Those beliefs guided their strength faith and heritage, and they passed them on to me. I am American, Texan, and Hindu. However, until this video, I believed no Texan leader would likely ever consider my and my immigrant family's beliefs as valuable enough to provide space for. Since who could bother to think about the invisible number of us? It was easier to treat us as Other. I learned early on that I was an Other. Being a minority child in Texas, questioned over and over amongst peers, and feeling at odds between my familial culture & what others call "correct and normal" was a difficult identity to reckon with. I felt a lot of distrust growing up and had to defend my kind family's way of worship countless times. It also brought me unneeded shame and embarrassment of being different. Not to mention, listening to other children tell me that my family and I would all go to hell for eternity, even though we were good honest people, was terrifying and cruel. I had to grow up quickly to stand my ground. I certainly didn't think there were any adults that would protect kids like me. But at the end of the day, I felt protected by the sanctity of separation of church and state. I felt safe in who I was as an American because I knew religious freedom was a core part of being American. That's why the recent Texas governmental attempts to blur religion's boundaries with public school has alarmed me. What this man is advocating for is tremendous fairness in the face of radical restriction. I have so much respect and graciousness for him, as it takes a strong moral spirit to consider those with less of a voice and who may not appear exactly like you. America is a melting pot. It is beautiful because anyone can look any way, and still live as an American. I hope for more leaders like him, so Texas can pave a bright fair and diverse path for future generations. ❤

Bravo, Mr. Talarico! Please keep up your good work on behalf of all students and ALL religions and atheists. I grew up in a strict catholic home. I left the church when I was 13 because I could not square what I was seeing with what I was being told to believe. When I became a mother; I decided to attend numerous different religious gatherings to see if there was one that I would feel comfortable exposing my children to. I did not find even one! So, I listened to my children's questions about why is the sky blue? Is there a God? Where do we go when we die? I responded to their questions in a manner that encouraged them to seek more information. I also prefaced everything that I said with, 'This is what I think'. You will find your own way as you grow. My 'children' are now in their 40s with their own kids. They did not join any organized religion. They respect other's religious choices. They have inquiring minds. They are critical thinkers. And they believe in science.

Bravo for calmly and respectfully exposing all of the problems that this new mandate presents, and for drawing a distinction between teaching and preaching. Additional kudos for speaking on behalf of students who already feel marginalized for not being mainstream Christians.

Texas Federation of Teachers, etc should sue the Texas Education Agency for violating church and state laws. As a former educator, I WOULD REFUSE TO TEACH religion in the curriculum. I believe in God but religion is a family responsibility, not an educational need. Why hasn't the Department of Education withheld federal monies until Texas removes these federal violations from the curriculum?

He's being purposely obscure in his response. There is NO SUCH THING in Scripture as supposed 'Christian nationism'. Nothing whatsoever..but that's the deception these folks are trying to impose. The truth of it is not one of these people has the capability to even obey the first commandment 24/7 WITHOUT FAIL. That which they are committed to imposing on others they can't even follow themselves. It's an abomination and the height of hypocrisy.

Has religion failed? Isn’t the institution of the church sufficient? God talked about his church not secular government. The Devil offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world snd he rejected it. Why is today’s church doing the devil’s work?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. THANK YOU, Representative Talarico. I grew up in the Catholic faith and loved the Christian values that guided my path, a belief that still leads me in life today. Many equate my governing/political views to "socialism" bc I am in their view a "Liberal Marxist" or whatever who is "Woke" and in favor of abortion "after the baby is born". A "libtard" who is actively supporting sex change surgeries on children by teachers. I maintain my faith as a Christian, and I am capable of doing so while adhering to the core Christanity..LOVE THY NEIGHBOR. LIVE AND LET LIVE is what I say.

Mr. Talarico, thank you. So impressed by the power and peace of your composure, even as you powerfully and clearly expose the hypocrisy and double standards of this law. Your example gives great hope that politicians can be servant leaders. I am also strengthened by your example of faith in practice in the public sphere. Thank you, sir. And may your voice continue to rise, for justice, in His name.❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
