The original folk song was from Ireland, it's amazing how songs evolve and find meaning with people of all creeds fighting oppression and liberty

There were some good actors in the series. I think its Ben Franklin's words, talking about the celebrations for liberty. "Every butcher's boy considers himself a principal in the event". Had me blubbing every time. (I would say, though, if you'd stuck with the empire slavery would have ended 35 years earlier).

As a Brit I like this and the John Tams version in 'Sharpe'. Both have a load of meaning in their performance.

@@jack18over Britain generally describes The island of Great Britain (Wales, England, and Scotland), but I guess you could say it that they were once part of the British Empire.
