I really appreciated this discussion. The Wolfe derangement syndrome has been super discouraging as of late. Thankyou for being really fair and logical in addressing this conflict. I'm someone who theological is much closer to White and Boot (I still think they're amongst the best theologians alive today), but have found their dealings with Wolfe less than ideal. Wolfe can be a bit of an internet troll and they fall for the bait consistently and often end up with egg on their face as they let emotions take over and lose their rationality. I hope everyone can reach an amicable end to this.

Ray Ortlund is an absolute disgrace.

It would be cool to see you guys do coverage on this storm. I'm heading that way to help from PA, but I can't get clear advice from anyone. The media has been silent and the independent guys covering it really are not giving specifics to how we Christians can be helpful.

Egalitarianism is part of the driving force in all of this.
@conceptualclarity2 ай бұрын
I don't think it has anything to do with the controversies between different camps on the right but it certainly is a driving force for the evangelical Left that is represented by the Ortlund clan. It is basically the real story behind the phony story of American evangelicalism as a place of rampant "secks abuse". Just like the Tailhook debauchery was blown way out of proportion by the media in the early 1990s to undo sensible restrictions on women in the military, the secks abuse controversy is intended to undo adherence to biblical sex roles in the ministry.

14:05 NEVER COMMUNISM. This time Trump. Always Jesus. It's not rocket science.

I do not support kamala harris but i also can not support trump. His sexual explotations and the way he speaks about women in the past are horrible. Women are just objects to him.

It’s time to unplug from celebrity pastors,debaters and fellows and focus on your local church. Appreciate the video.
@slhuneycutt2 ай бұрын
I can agree the local church is important. But, if not for these pastors and debaters posting online content, I would not be reformed and my family would not be actively seeking a solid, reformed, local church. There is a need for these men of God to share to those of us who are not simply blessed with falling into a good local church.
@anthonyg50552 ай бұрын
I would have to say your reform because the Holy Spirit is teaching you the things of the word through the teaching you are receiving through those men. But you could just as easily get that information from all the dead saints of the past that we were formed before them. That is part of the sanctification process. I’m simply saying we need to take them off their pedestal. I also think it’s important for us to get taught by our local church so we are not distracted when things like this happen online. I am still trying to find a good reform church to be a part of in my area. It is extremely difficult. I was going to OPC church for about a year, but found out of a Baptist church not far from us that we may be able to join and lay roots down. Grace To you. Conversations That Matter Jon Harris. Fire. Founders ministry are good places to search your area for a church.

Seems concerning the way these "celebrity" types (White, Boot, Durbin, etc) are choosing to handle all of this. It is very un-Christian in my opinion. They think very highly of themselves and feel justified in discrediting anyone who has a different opinion without so much as a personal conversation. We saw this behavior with the G3 guys last year. Mark and avoid all of those guys. I'm truly starting to fear they are the wolves in sheep's clothing, rather than the obvious heretics like Russell Moore, David French, etc.
@xinyorixahumba63072 ай бұрын
A loss of nuance is the problem. Wolves in sheep's clothing is probably a huge jump. Remember, Christians haven't had to think this way for a long time, so patience and understanding are needed.
@ratchet-z3d2 ай бұрын
@@xinyorixahumba6307 Repeatedly we have seen people like White outright misconstrue and misrepresent what other Christian brothers have said, and then refuse to speak to the directly. If I am supposed to believe White is one of the most learned theologians around, how am I supposed to believe that he's just missing the nuance. For that to be true, we would have to acknowledge that there's cognitive decline and he should stop teaching and preaching. Otherwise it's intentional, and that's wicked. Either way it's bad for White and he should exit stage left.

I think Jon Wright and Eric Conn are both correct when they state that one of the main issues is that there is significant % of talking past each other in this disagreement. Likewise responses like @raeliberty1556 don't actually address what is being said by either side. If we expect either side of this discussion to be fair to the other we need to avoid the hypocrisy of not doing the same.
@ratchet-z3d2 ай бұрын
@@JP_21M Only one side is talking past the other. That's the problem, that's my point. White thinks he is on the right side and refuses to hear anything to the contrary. He's being dismissive at best. But I no longer believe the best of him. Because he's been doing this to several people for several years now.
