As a girl who shaved her head at 19, I absolutely agree with everything said in this video. I have always been "known" for my long thick wavy hair. Then I decided I wanted a change. I decided to go to a hairdresser and sell my 75 centimeter long hair (highly recommended if you have healthy hair) and left the salon with a buzz cut - 5 millimeters long hair. Now my hair has been growing for two years and so far I am enjoying it very much. Will I ever cut my hair this drastically again? I don't know yet, but I don't regret my earlier decision at all! It has taught me a lot about how I perceive myself and how I want to present myself to the world.

Ive had a round deva curl cut for the past 4 years and it is my defining feature. As someone whos known for his "amazing" hair im really scared but also really compelled to do this. I just know I would love the freedom of waking up every day ready to go and rid of the worries of messy bed hair and how long its going to take to style (which is a lot, very high maintenance) So essentially, thank you for this upload, you have boosted my confidence to just step out my comfort zone and do it. And I will, perhaps when it starts getting a bit warmer though...

I was looking for my own identity and was walking past a barber shop and decided there and then the first step of my new identity was to get a new haircut. walking in I walked over to the chair and as he caped me up he asked how I wanted and with no hesitation, I just said skinhead number one. I totally relate to what you're talking about in this video. I was forced to shave my head bald on the last day of July of 2024 after having it start falling out due to having cancer and going through chemo. I have since beat cancer and have an overgrown buzz right now. But shaving my head was nowhere as bad as I thought, and I actually loved the way it looked (vids on my channel). But it just goes to show how unimportant stuff like this actually is. Granted I was forced to do it but was considering it for a while anyway so it all worked out.

I could not get rid of the one thing you can change daily for a new identity. It would bug the crap out of me to have to spend 6+ months with the same style, which, along with my head in general and cold weather is the #1 reason I always fight the urge to do this. I had the same haircut my whole life. 2 mounths ago i said fk it and shaved my head in front of the mirror. I used my hair to hide allot of my insecurities. After shaving my head I was like "what have i done :(". But after a couple days it was the best thing i ever did. I've accepted I am who I am, my flaws are not that bad and yea! Plus it will always grow back.

similar experience. I was obsessed with a shaggy fringe and have had one most of my life I always got known to have very long hair up top and come June 2023 I said fk it and buzzed it all off. At first I felt uncomfortable but then afterwards I adapted to the look. I grew it all back and I have hair to this day but im going to shave my head probably this summer my dad has an issue with me having a buzzcut and I finally talked him into letting me buzz it again this summer wish I could do it now but oh well 🤷‍♂️

Don't disagree with anything you said re confidence etc, I would say though that one day when your hair is thinning/receding you may not have the choice, so personally I'd enjoy having longer hair for as long as possible while you can. Also you have a face/head shape that suits it & many other styles too.

I shaved my head in 2020 for the first time. I was 16 and went from a man bun with nearly shoulder length hair to the buz. Since then I’ve progressively been confused with how to have my hair and sub-consciously grown it to a certain length which I then realise is ‘to long’ and have buzzed it off again. I’m currently growing my hair out, have been since October, and I want longer hair. But I also want to buz it again.

Buzzing it once its easy coz ya can grow it straight back. Challenge yaself to keep it for at least a year. You had it for 4 years in the past. You could try out do your record and go for 5 years, or another challeng could be to out do how short you have ever done it with lower numbers for a bit of fun
