Interesting fact guys - nature has designed babies to start smiling at around 6 weeks because it’s the point at which parents (not all parents obvs) hit the pinnacle of exhaustion, so the baby starting to smile gives them such joy that their energy is replenished enough to give them a second wind, as it were!

Yesss to the decking and removing the shed and making the current shed area a covered deck for a hot tub. With all the rain too it would be nice to be able to sit outside even if it was raining. Get a smaller shed and tuck it over where the trash cans are!! Lovely idea!!
@desybug263 жыл бұрын
To add to that why they make the covered deck area, you could have the hot tub on the left and on the right side have an out door couch that is a corner couch so one side faces outwards towards the garden and the other side faces towards the brick wall. that way if you built the roof of the outdoor cover flush with the brick wall you could hang a projector screen and use that to watch out door movies, or james could watch the rugby with his mates out doors etc.

You could use that square space as a play area for Amber. Sand pit, swing, slide etc. Having it there can be handy to keep an eye on her when she is older, especially if you have guests/play dates in the future and you're sitting around your kitchen table
@ariisaccount3 жыл бұрын
for the area where the shed is it can be a good idea to use that brick wall as a screen to project films, and you guys can have little movie nights during the summer
@ellenanning36723 жыл бұрын
Yes! I also think some old bricks similar to the wall would tie it in nicely

As someone who LOVED spas etc I thought a hot tub would be a great idea. 12k pounds and 5 years later i can officially say we use it less than 10 times a year!! We actually only use it when friends come over for bbqs etc. If I could turn back the clock I wouldn’t have got it. Just think really carefully about how much you would use it! It’s one of those things that is nice in theory I think. Adds a fair bit to you energy bills and takes a lot of upkeep to make sure the water stays safe to use. Good luck what ever you choose!x

Just a tip to help you dry your eucalyptus properly you preserve it in 2 parts boiling water to 1 part liquid glycerin. Leave the stems in the mix for 2 weeks and then you can use for your wreath.

If you’re going to get a hot tub and that gazebo-like thing, you can get a false wall put in and have a shed built into that false wall, so it’s hidden. I have a garden summerhouse with a part sectioned off for a shed with its own door separate from the main summerhouse but still part of the same building.

Personally I'm not a fan of the decking idea. I think the greenery looks so pretty through your picture window with your blossom tree, it'd be a shame to lose it. Maybe leave the grass and have a covered seating area where the shed is? but its whatever works for you. Living for your baby and house updates by the way haha x

ooo i’m so excited to see what you guys do!! i like your ideas, i was also thinking although the concrete slab is already there it does make sense but you don’t NEED the shed there and moving it to a shady section in the yard would allow you all to have more so much more room in the sunny section to enjoy, especially when some friends or family are over hanging out! love you guyssss :) and that green dress amber was in with the turban...omg😭😍
@amyp97x3 жыл бұрын
Instead of a shed you could get a big wooden playhouse (with some storage which you could use as the shed) for when Amber is older and any future children, would be perfect near that window so you can watch them from inside and you can sit on the deck air/ in the hot tube watching her/them play when they are older

I’m with James with the vase on the book lol amber in her little dress 👗 gorgeous. I think hot tub pergola and put smaller shed to the side. I think if your a lover for hot tubs you would use it, but kids love them to for when baby girl is older. Do a work out then chill in the tub all in the comfort of your own home, bootiful. Hey guys! We have just renovated our whole garden with a decking and pergola and we filmed the whole process on our channel. Our garden is a bit smaller than yours but we managed to do it all ourselves. We absolutely love the decking as we have a north facing garden so our decking is a little sun trap now. I think decking would be a great idea for your garden 🥰

The gazebo on the bottom right of the screen was darling. A small shed to the left of the big decking area would be practical and quaint. Could even deck around your cherry blossom too. It is a bit of wasted space as you described the shed is damp ridden and has holes which don't make for sense of overall wellness in your home space. Excited for whatever reno you decide upon. Hot tub OMG lush ☆

It kinda goes back to when we had to find our own food, we would eat fruit in the warmer months because it was seasonal would’ve been available in abundance, but in the colder/winter months we’d eat less fruit because it wasn’t readily available so would eat more meat :D Kinda interesting! Love your videos 💜

If you go for the hot tub option, just think about how cold it will be getting out and walking back to the house. I used to have one in my shed and we didn't use it because you would get warm and then have to walk back into the house in the freezing. And I live in Australia not UK

Yes to Hot Tub under pergola type thing with lights etc - I would avoid decking, it's a nightmare in the winter unless a lot of work put in to keep it treated, clean and dry - otherwise gets very slippery and mucky. Go for sandstone/yorkstone for patio with big pots and statement plants and someone else mentioned a firepit (but suppose that might be unsafe for little Amber). Its a lovely view out there and you want to keep that too. Would you knock through the window to be doors ?

Definitely loooovvvveeee the idea of the hot tub , decking area with seats and you could get an outdoor gas fire pit!! My in-laws have one and it's fantastic we can sit on the deck all year round and sit around the fire! And it's right on the wooden deck with no damage as there's no real flame. And the mini shed on that other section would be perfect!! You could have these amazing little lanters on the decking area as well that you could see at night time through the kitchen window ! You can get solar ones the just need sun! Ahh I can't wait to see what you guys come up with ! Also I would love to see you put some raised vegetable gardens somewhere on your property 😉

We love our hot tub & lovely after a gym session. We have a summer house( could be used as a shed)with a canopy attached for the tub, the shelter is great in the winter & we have a heater in the summer house so we can get changed in there instead of running into the house freezing cold! Amber will love it in a few years time.

I absolutely love your channel and your little family! I for one love the look of the white vase on the white book! If you are concerned about how things will look inside it and want to go old school with putting things in it, on Amazon you can purchase the scrapbooking corners for photos etc in both White and clear of which either of them would look nice should you choose to put memories in your memory book.

Your ideas sound great for the sunny area of the garden. I’m not sure how hot it gets over there sitting in the sun but you might want to consider a free standing pergola for a bit over shade over the lounge area. Another very popular and comforting item is a propane fire table to sit around in the evening. It adds a lovely atmosphere. If you can afford it, try and get the composite decking so little feet don’t get slivers. It also is maintenance free.
@brittvandenoord78393 жыл бұрын
Regarding the garden transformation, I would definitely go for decking! Not sure if you've already considered this, but it is also possible to combine the shed with the covered decking in a way that they are attached to each other. I think doing it like that would look better than having a separate shed somewhere else in the garden!
