Stay in Santo Domingo de la Calzada. The parador is a former hospital that pilgrims stayed in on the Ruta de Santiago. The restaurant has great food and amazing wine. It's close to Bilbao, in the center of wine country (we did a day trip to Haro, amazing city and food) and a nice stop if you're on the way to San Sebastián.

No doubt about it. Chinchón, so close from Madrid, a tiro de piedra. Cuenca, Guadalupe, Siguenza and Oropesa. More sword and sorcery and gastronomy for your educated senses.

Nothing to suggest, just the perfect kind of video for your style, even the 30 minutes long I think that fits. Thanks to Paradores for sponsoring you in these times, I think it is a great investment for them, and if I were Paradores' PR I would use your Cuenca, Cáceres and I hope some other more not only on youtube, but also on every English language TV station. As I do like to suggest things ... If you add a sequel cooking some traditional dish /es from Cáceres once at your home, for your cooking at home videos - that is other kind of show - it would be nice to watch.

I think Cáceres and the whole country, overall, deserve many great visits. In Spain there's everything, for everyone and for all tastes. There are countries, such as Spain, which have been at the center of the world for millennia and have shaped and written history for centuries and other countries that have only been dragged by it...

I had never heard of Caceres before seeing this video as part of a depressed, wine-driven pity party on the sofa during lockdown. I dreamed of visiting Caceres, and re-watched this video repeatedly (and other Caceres videos). Three weeks ago I was able to stay in Caceres as part of a big birthday trip to Spain, and I wished I had stayed there for the entire vacation. What a wonderful, beautiful, magical, friendly city! Thank you!

Cáceres is one of my favorite cities. Portugal has the Estremadura, with an s and not an x. What I like about Cáceres is that you have the old preserved part of the city and the new modern part, with wide boulevards and palm trees. The entrance coming in from the Autovia is impressive. Since we are economical with our money and have no sponsors, we stay at the four star Extremadura Hotel, which is quite reasonable and has a good breakfast. Staying in Cáceres you can make day trips to Trujillo, birthplace of Francisco Pizarro, conqueror of the Incas, Malpartida de Cáceres where a lot of the scenes from Game of Thrones were filmed, and Montánchez, that castle and village looking down from a distance on the Autovia de la Plata. If you are a history buff, you also have to visit Medellín, near Mérida, birthplace of Hernán Cortès, conqueror or the Aztecs. There is so much history here you don't know where to begin. Extremadura has been the filming location of many Spanish movies and television series. Perhaps the most famous filmed in the city of Cáceres itself is 1492, Conquest of Paradise, with Gerard Depardieu and Sigourney Weaver.

This is one of your most beautiful videos you’ve created to date! I enjoyed learning about the lovely Caceres. Yoli was especially charming in this one and I especially appreciated her singing, especially her carefully navigating the complex microtonal embellishments. My wife has been wanting me to mention to you how much we have been enjoying the videos on Spain Revealed. We discovered (through algorithmic suggestion) near the beginning of our “quarantine” and have been binge-watching like a Netflix true-crime series. Your videos have been a great comfort in these anxiety-inducing times. My wife and I met and then lived in Palma de Mallorca for about 8 years in the 90s when we were in our 20s. My wife lived in Madrid on her own while she worked at La Scala. I have many regrets about not visiting more of la peninsula, but I certainly explored every nook and cranny of my beloved Mallorca, even finding gems in the ugliest tourist zones (A good fish and chip shop or German restaurant). Your videos often trigger memories of our times there, even sometimes just the way the setting sun looks against medieval buildings or a landscape view from a tower. Anyway, thanks again, your videos, we find them fun, informative and often beautiful.

Absolutely fantastic video James and Yoly! Since European travel is out of the question right now, you two showing and teaching us about these places is great. I really dig the Moorish feel of this town. As a photographer, your videos really make me want to go photography these locations! :) Well done!

I just saw your Vlog a few weeks ago and Subscribed right away. I’ve been in Spain several times and loved those Paradores. My first Parador experience was Parador Ducal de Lerma and spent a week there and the most recent was this January….. The Parador in Cardona, Barcelona for a week. Built in the late 800s. More power to you and your wife, and Lucia.

Gracias por hacer este tipo de videos, España es un país muy rico y lo demostráis yendo a ciudades menos conocidas pero igualmente bonitas.

James and Yoly your video is awesome, my wife and I saw your video about 3 times. We always visit Madrid in March for about month of every year but this time we plan to visit in September 2021 because of the virus. We will visit Parador Hotel in September and will request room 201. 👍😷

I really enjoyed this one, even a second time. You guys write a great story. I was fortunate to have been able to study in Cáceres in 1989 and I left a good portion of my heart there due to the wonderful people, and especially my host family. Well done, Yoly y James!

What a delightful video tour of your visit. Great photography and narration. It was nice to see Yoly also contribute narration and surprise us with a Flamenco song, share another sometime. Another little gem to visit someday.

Hi James and Yoly!:) Thanks a lot for another great video! You're really making it on a very professional level. And James, your narrative style reminds me of Michael Palin in his travel documentaries, which I also adore!
