Shadow mate you were a giant in the 90s and still are. There is no Gladiators without you. The amount of families that sat and ate fish and chips together watching you be the hardest man on TV is golden and can never be replaced or recreated fact. You and Cilla had the X factor before it was even a thing haha. Keep strong mate, this podcast stuff could literally mean you never have to work a day in your life again if you play it right and you defo have it in you and deserve it. Time for shadow to come out of the shadows. A massive fan from the 90's xx

Keep your chin up Shadow. I used to love watching you and the Gladiators. I really hope you get a break on the back of your fame from the 90s. Think about how you can use your fame to lift yourself out of your circumstances. Please don't give up because nothing is impossible for someone like you who made it before. You can do it again. Blessings.

Gladiators was never ever the same once Shadow was removed. He was by far the most legendary and formidable Gladiator. It’s unjust how he was treated and consequently sent him on a downward trajectory in a life of crime and drugs. But he’s served his time at the end of the day and seems like a very humble, down to earth guy with a lot of knowledge that he could use to benefit himself. Looking very healthy for your age which is great to see. Wishing you all the best mate, legend 💪

Shadow gave me three tickets to go see gladiators in the 1990's, he turned up in his vauxhall Frontera with the spare wheel Gladiator cover on, at the shops we used to hang out at and we all ran over to him screaming and shouting as he pulled up. He gave all of us tickets. He was such a great guy, really laid back and wanted to put smiles on our faces. There was also another time where we were walking to school and the big breakfast were outside his house one morning. Then there was all this talk about police and drugs etc and as kids, we were gutted and it was sad. On the day of the gladiators show my arsehole of a step dad said he wasn't taking me and I was devastated, I sat on the kerb in the street crying in to my hands. The guy over the road who was always washing his red VW polo asked me what was wrong, when I told him he said don't worry I'll take you, so he took me and his son, bought us popcorn, a big drink and one of those big sponge hands. A day I'll never forget and thankyou Mick Griffin and Shadow you made my day 💜

We never forgot about Shadow, king of duel and one of the most iconic dudes on TV in the 90's. I'm sure hes made a tonne of bad decisions in the past that he now regrets, but in this interview he comes across very intelligent and humble, and i really feel like if he was given more opportunities after Gladiators he may have gone down a much more positive path. We have never heard his story from his side before and whether people choose to believe it or not I'm glad we got to hear him explain himself a little in this interview and i really hope to hear more from him again in the future. It definitely seems like he is hungry to build back his public image and put himself out there as someone who is trying to do better, i hope he gets more chances like this to speak and help us understand him more. big ups shadow, once a Gladiator always a Gladiator.

The guy was penalised hugely for what he may have done, the TV production company at the start would have expected them to use enhancers to look like the big characters they needed or the show would’nt have worked with Gladiators who were built like Mr Muscle. To work 14hr days using a high amount of energy a bit of speed to get through it is a minor thing and even if he did a bit of Bronson he would have only been like 90% of celebs, crew, tv company executives, Managers from the world of TV and media who all do it as well as all the politicians, lawyers, police, Royals etc who all snuff their heads off, get away with it, becomes part of that world and a blind eye is always turned on so many, then there’s always the odd few who for some reason get singled out, made a scapegoat to pretend that such behaviour is unacceptable when the people making these decisions to create a perfect world in their PR world are the real perpetrators and so many of the British public fall for it all and think nothing bad goes on and TV personalities are great lovely people and do nothing wrong!! I hate this UK culture of cynics doing their best to bring people down who reach a height and see them in the gutter. So many people do things wrong, if they then learn from mistakes, try to change and do better is a valuable lesson and process for everyone and should be given opportunities to change and do better. The world is brainwashed and programmed by media and the Elite MOB of how people should act, behave and what’s right & wrong. Everyone should be free to make their own choices and decisions and not be expected to conform to how people say we are supposed to act in society. Good luck to Jeff ‘Shadow’ hope he gets s fair deal to actually make a decent living.

Great interview. Brought back a lot of memories 😊 used to love the Gladiators. I always thought shadow was so serious, I never would have imagined this was his personality! Seems like a nice guy

Shadow randomly showed up at my school once, Stone school in Kidderminster, he just turned up to say hi to the kids and sign stuff for us. I remember him walking through the playground and everyone losing there shit. he lived locally, used to see his jeep with the Shadow number plate and big G on the spare wheel on the back all the time.

Good interview. Would like to know more of Shadow’s story, delving deeper into his life, the sorrow he’s clearly been through and more on how and why he went off the rails into prison. I guess that will come through in the book.

I absolutely loved Shadow and stopped watching Gladiators once he left. Hearing his story leads me to believe there was something untoward that led to his demise and continued blacklisting. However, he still have a fan base and support out here. I wish him blessings for his future endeavours and hope his probation officer is giving him the support he needs. I would if I was supervising him because he seems to be such an humble guy with great potential.

Such a good guest and quality handled interview, for me this is a prime example of an organisation elevating someone to a point they didn’t like playing second fiddle and then continually hitting someone when they’re down. Jefferson has a lot to offer still, maybe more than he did back in his ‘glory years’! Keep duelling!

Great Podcast as always James, loved watching Gladiators as a kid in the 90's. It was shame that Michael and other Glads that ran into trouble with the law didn't the same level of support back then as entertainers have now. I think people like Michael wouldn't gone down the destructive paths they went down if they had. I am pleased that Michael is well and healthy and is trying to put the past behind him.
