@@jaywilson2244 honestly, some of the quotes. Describing his cousin and brother ramming a axe into someone’s heads as fisty cuffs. If anyone wants to know the actual story of what Joey disgusting describes as a ‘scrap’… A 17 year old black boy had just left CHURCH and was standing waiting for a bus outside a pub in a majority white area. Joey’s brother was standing outside the pub and shouted racist abuse at the boy and told them to fuck off somewhere else. The kid then waked to another bus stop to leave the situation, but joeys brother and cousin then got in their car, drove after them, got out, then beat the kid up and smashed him over the head with joey’s brothers axe. Then then got on a plane to Amsterdam to escape the authorities, before returning five days later when they were arrested. For Joey to say his brother ‘lost’ 17 years of his life is disgusting, and he also lied saying the cousin decided to bring an axe, when it was his brother’s axe and it happened because his brother wanted more from an innocent boy who just wanted to get the bus home after church.
@BennyBlanco481

Sorry jack but thats just, not true 👍 .... (lets pretend they had been to church) ... the closest chuch is on st marys road, huyton bus station is not even 2min up the road from there, so why would they walk the OPERSIT WAY from the bus station (back down st johns road and PAST a bus stop outside the church), just to get a bus going back the opersit way? 🤨 Plus that "huyton huyton 2-dogs fighting" is from a book by "john o'neill" that came out in the 1960s and isnt anything to do with "race" 🤦‍♂️

None of us are perfect and clearly Joey's had his issues, but it takes a big man to admit his wrongdoings and make efforts to improve. He's a different person now, so the negative comments on here might be a bit harsh. He's matured, humbled, intelligent and clearly cares about family and other peoples feelings now. The outrageous act of his brother should have no bearing on him. I wish Joey all the best. Good Podcast James.

Well said Sir. For too many people seem incapable of allowing someone to change & evolve. Instead of listening to what someone says, they instead ignore it so they won't have to question or change their initial opinion, even if formed years ago. This very point is even brought up in the interview, how people will comment, regardless of if they've even listened to the interview or just made up their opinion based on seeing the name alone.

Agreed, an interesting listen. But you have to remember that in the modern world, everyone is perfect & hasnt made any mistakes. No one is allowed to be given another chance & to change & grow from the person they were in the past. Once a judgement on someone they don't know has been made, even if 15+ years ago, then this can't change as if it is then it shows nothing but weakness. And should anyone divert from the proscribed stereotype that is allotted them, then they are a wrong 'en.

Just goes to show how the media form your minds never judge a book by its cover I hold my hands up ! All the stuff I heard about this bloke I didn’t really have much time for him. But listening to him top bloke made it and seems like a top bloke well done 🙏🏻

Great watch that! Never knew half the stuff about when he was at rangers as it was brushed under the carpet at the time, totally get why you’d be pissed off! Standards should always be high

I judged joey over the years purely from the media and I didn't really like him but this podcast was awesome, I understand joey personality now and I have friends like him which are great people. The media made him out to be like the devil but in fact he a no nonsense passionate sportsman. New joey Barton fan now. 💪😎

The irony of his last point is very profound. The gravestones…. He referred to Paul Taylor as the best and most talented finisher he’s ever seen. Yet Antony’s family would have another impression.

@JamesEnglish lol? Don't think Anthony Walker's family are finding this funny. You are a pure disgrace. No bar too low for you. This on the back of trying to give Daniel Kinahan a platform to attempt a whitewash.
