Hi James, You saved these breams, well done mate! I'm also from Asia and speak mandarin; I hope the terrible actions of these individuals will not make the local fisherman misunderstand us. My friends and I are very supportive of the VFA's laws to protect fish and the environment. I think every fisherman needs to go fishing without harming the environment.

Looks like the river is maturing with quality for the fish to be populating. Good job confronting the fisher and keeping him honest. I saw a phenomenon along the river last Easter Friday where swarms of young brim were feeding along the edges. I haven't seen it since and don't know why. Have you come across that before?

He understands.....I've seen it for many, many years. They should have signs up in Mandarin, Cantonese and Vietnamese at every common fishing spot so they can no longer plead ignorance, its beyond a joke. I see it probably 80% of the time I go on a shore based fish in Sydney. Not a ranger or fisheries officer to be seen.

Lol you’re too diplomatic but that is the best approach. There is no doubt that the individual was fully aware of the legal size limit. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t have been tossing fish back immediately after opening the cooler instead of measuring each fish to figure out what you were talking about. 😉

It's disappointing that they don't respect their ramen all the fish at all we get them here in sa and I wish that they bring out a fishing licence. But on the good hand I have come across some of them tight that are very loving in caring and a very happy to give you knowledge about the fish They buy by the rules because they want to see their kids fishing and when I took my son out fishing a gentleman said to make come with me and I will get your son to catch some decent fish but we release them. Any was really nice of him my son caught some beautiful brim and we got to release them and especially king George Whiting take a good toga catch and release.

@SaMaNtHa.20232 жыл бұрын
The only time that they will understand you if you say to them and they can finally speak Australian English is when you say to them you won the lottery. It really pisses me off when I play the cards that they don't speak English will understand our language. It's not fair on the fish and it Takes a bream them a long time to grow. Or I hate people saying O you need to catch more them to get a decent feed know if their undersides please let them go it doesn't mean you have to catch more to get a decent feed catch the right legal size fish.

Even though it’s the right thing to do …I myself wouldn’t start any altercations over it ….and keep to my own ….for this sole and very important reason….people who are keeping undersize fish can become extremely violent ….as can any altercation …so in saying that you have to weigh up is that fish’s life worth possible injury or death ….just saying one guy may be cool another may have a gun in the pocket know what I mean ….🤷♂️
