Oh Mr. Hendry..... all my life I have dreamed of Africa - and for most of my life, it was as unreachable to me as the moon. Until 2019 when my lifelong dream came true, and I traveled half way around the world and stood on the Mara. At that moment, my long held belief seemed true....that Africa is where God goes when he/she wants to remember the world as it was - before man came along and messed it all up.... Seeing that elephant standing on its hind legs brought that all back to me, and brought me to tears. And for that, sir - I am eternally grateful - THANK YOU !

Your style is wonderful, this is the first time I've seen your vids. You remind me of the shorts prior to the main movie when I was a kid. The chap always spoke as measured and comically as you, so it was entertaing and beautiful. Cheers Rosemary Perth Western Australia (71 yrs)

Congratulations Jamesie on becoming yet another year older and perhaps wiser like Daddy.. What a fantastic birthday present .Mana Pools in all its glory. I am sure that bi-pedal ellie used to perform at the Boswell Wilkie Circus. So pleased to see that you managed to keep a calm head whilst dealing to that damn irritating tyre. A lesser man would have resorted to obscenities and a lot of kicking. Ah but on one's birthday, one must maintain a calm demeanor at all times, even when semi- naked. Absolutely wonderful filming from both Kirsten and James. No doubt the birthday was celebrated with a bottle of apple juice costing an exorbitant amount of Zim Dollars.

Very much enjoyed the entire video. The bipedal ellie shots, the young bull and the spousal banter that I can only in vision may include more censored words on this platform were great also. Thank you.

James and Kirstin, that was, for me, the most beautiful trip you have taken. Mana Pools is so special…I still can`t get over how ALL animals room the landscape together in harmony. When you ended with „return…to heal our human souls“, I teared up! Your photography and music made this into a special time to „escape“ from my everyday life into the beauty and peace of Africa - thank you!

Good intro music. I wasn't sure what it was at first, then realised that you had done Happy Birthday to a different pace. I had a friend who played piano and did the same thing. One Sunday near Christmas he was playing "She'll be coming round the mountain" before a church service. Only a few people realised. The close up encounter with the elephant was amazing. Then he seemed to go to sleep. The scenery was awesome. I wish I could be there too. I must put this on my bucket list.

The boiled peanuts didn't sound fantastic, tho typically I go for the roasted type ones, or if I'm feeling adventurous wasabi peas. Fantastic stuff though, that Ellie standing on it's back legs was magical. It was nice to hear James while it was doing it too, one wonders if thats what BBC camera operators (The beeb should get in touch for that kind of footage) are like when they get that kind of shot. Cheers once again for the vids they are so much fun.

Sorry I missed it, but I never got a notification. We watched the replay. My fav was the athletic elephant with ginormous tusk. That, and pretending to like the wife’s gift of stale peanuts. (One does that for the “boss”.) It must really add to a self-drive to be able to interpret tracks & other signs. BTW: My wife is also better than I am at spotting things in the bush.
