Ironic, Headed to Cleveland tonight to see Noel play at the House of Blues. He puts on a great show, and still makes some great music! Thanks James!

Noel is such a badass! Still playing with the Flying Birds even after Liam bowed out. Much respect and still love his hilarious interviews.

Saw Noel last Saturday in Milwaukee. Another great show. He's a good show to catch if he's in your area.

I get that this is 5 years after the fact but I was at that same show. It was the day after my last day of high school and it was my second time seeing Noel. I’m glad to have encountered another person who was there because for 18 year old me, Noel at the Pabst was as good as it was gonna get.

Hey James, love your videos, you are certainly one of the best tutors on the web, respect. Just for viewers info, I think the original album version was played with the capo at the second fret rather than the third, just in case anyone is trying to play along to that and it don't sound right. Keep up the good work, manly respect from the UK.
@pijindrin253 жыл бұрын
Studio version is with capo on 2nd fret. This is Noel’s acoustic version

I would just like to say that I love your videos. I had a day off today and just surfing, learning guitar stuff (just stoked to learn on your vid that Steve Marriott sang backing on one of my all time fav growing up songs "Good times") I also browsed to the channel of PremierGuitar.com re John Fogerty's rig and saw the inscription on the back of the guitar given to him by his wife, (a blue tartan Gibson) and was humbled. Aged 17 I first heard "Daddy Cool" playing at a rain soaked outdoor venue in Sydney and realised that I was free and the choice to be happy or sad was mine. As Ringo would say "Peace love (and happiness)" to you.

Nice lesson...you're in the good company of George Clinton about just feeling the groove. I could be snarky and suggest that you play a few more Soul/R&B classics but ,hey Morrisman Smith is my goto Interwebs guitar guy when I need to give up the funk. And anyways I don't want you to have to shut down this channel like you did the other due to rampant assholism and song demands....so could I respectfully request a golden 80's chestnut from Marshall Crenshaw? "Whenever You're On My Mind" is a great pop tune with a nifty riff that I've been trying to nail down lately. Anyway....you are much appreciated in this little corner of KZbin.

I will definitely try this one and post it up if anything becomes of it. Here's the kind of stuff that would come on tv on a Saturday night when I was six. I'd take away from this how to play with heart and soul durning your performances. You can tell. JJ has got the legs working as he plays. It an essential component to being honest with the song. You are a great teacher because we know you feel the song. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGibXpmqmNajhNk

Oasis are awesome. I don't know how popular they were in America, but in Europe they were like new-gen of the Beatles. I was on Glastobury 1995 and Manchester 2005 and it was like dream came true. I don't know how familiar are you with them, but Wonderall isn't at Top 10 Oasis songs. Overrated song as hell. Can you do more their songs ? Anything from Definately Maybe or Morning Glory would satisfy. Thanks !!

He said he's not a big fan of Oasis, but was around in the 90's and is aware of some of their big hits, at least the ones that were popular in America.

I'm just starting out, can anyone explain the strumming pattern or is it just a case of experimenting? Thanks if you can.
@jamesjames92759 жыл бұрын
***** For starters, there is no set strum pattern in this version. It varies throughout, that's one thing that makes it great. The timing is constant, but the strumming isn't.

James James Wonderwall is probably first composition I learnt on guitar. I remember I was so upset when I watched tutorial with strumming pattern showed. It seemed so fucked up to learn. I almost gave up. But instead, I listened to the song about 5-10 times and then I tapped the rhythm with my hands, and after that I instantly knew how to strum the guitar. True story :)
