I've always believed that Noel Gallagher's acerbic and crotchety exterior is more of a schtick. He is a true romantic and a sentimental dreamer at heart. He would never admit to that but you can hear and feel it in his songs.

I feel like the brothers public squabbles’ have changed the both of them for the worst…at least in terms of their public personas. Every interview they do now has the obvious elephant in the room of whether the other brother could/should be brought up, and so they both feel the need to keep a tough exterior in case they have to dismiss the other one. Takes away from their usual personalities, imo (especially Noel, Liam’s gonna do Liam ether way)…

Just came from watching the late late tribute to gay Byrne where they told a story about Noel. After the Omagh bombing they had a 15 year old girl who was a pianist in the crowd who had been blinded in the bombing. Noel gave gay Byrne a signed copy of she’s electric to give to her (she was an oasis fan) on the condition that she never give up music. Top bloke.
