I’ve seriously loved both of your channels since I found them well over 8 years ago but the way you casually discard that slide and transition to the chord made me smile so much. You’re one incredibly talented individual.

Please read this whole text because it's truly a compliment to what you do ! I have listened to much of your work, (BRAVO !) but I need to say that I think you detract from yourself when you run the studio recordings in the background. I realize you might be using it for comparison reasons but you don't do yourself justice and people (some of my students in particular) think your hiding behind those tracks. I do not think that's what your intentions are and I wanted to both pay you a compliment and offer you some constructive advice as well. Keep on cranking them out. I use much of what you do to teach some of my students. Thanks for all your hard work !!

I’m sorry that you would take that hostile attitude. People obviously look to you for direction and I tried to point that out along with paying you a true compliment. Part of being a good mentor is having the ability to use what people say to your advantage to become even a greater teacher. I was trying to tell you that I enjoy hearing you without the recording. You don’t have to agree with me but being open to people who appreciate you is the sign of a true artistic teacher. I think we should always look to better ourselves. Nothing negative was intended. And I truly enjoy your work.

@@michaelerikvonhartung1869 Hostile? How is it hostile to say that people's criticisms don't bother me -- especially now that I'm no longer posting videos? If somebody doesn't like how I do my videos, it's too late for me to go back and change them. But you're free to interpret my comments however you wish. As I said, it doesn't bother me.

Years ago I asked what those little teeny brown lines are that run parallel to the neck just about where your elbow rests on the body. Mineral lines! I have lusted after them for quite some time and am actually in process of building my own to have them. You inspire on all levels.

Is it just me or is this a little bit, a tad, a smidgen bit slower than the original? Also, I believe Led Zeppelin was touring with Donovan and acquired the opening lick/strum from Season of the Witch, or something to this effect? Please clarify this factoid, if you will...because if anyone knows the story, it'd be you. Thanks!
@jamesjames9275
@jamesjames9275 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Led Zepagain version feels a little sluggish, especially when you get to the slide solo. It just drags. As for similarities to Season of the Witch, I think this is one of the few Zeppelin tunes that is 100% their own songwriting, with nothing stolen. :)

Is it me or does the D chord in the song chorus, not a full blown D? It has a little dissonant note I hear or is that the D/A sound? Not doubting your work JJ, I always thought it sounded a tad different than a Dmaj. Help!
