@@De3dSh0t you do realize that Lunin has only conceded 22 goals in La Liga, he is only 4 more goals than the least goals conceded in La Liga history. His penalty saving percentage is WELL above the average keeper, I believe it's somewhere around 40-50%. To say he's been shaky is so ignorant and shows you don't know what you're talking about

If Kim doesn’t make that tackle Rodrygo scores. Kim has to take that risk. I hated how people said he shouldn’t have made a tackle. The execution is bad, but he has to do something. Dier is nowhere near and arrives from his position of marking nobody and leaving a huge gap of space which Rodrygo exploits too late to help Kim.

Madrid is like no other team the complete opposite of robotic everything small detail planned into a function system, they are a team that the tactical shape doesnt matter when attacking phase start it all about the players individual quality playing with freedom to create dangerous situation in relation to what happen in the game there is tactics of course but there is freedom Rodrygo starts from the left and cut inside while Vini play centrally as a 9 but when he has the ball in his feet he is starting from the left and Rodrygo in the middle, Belingham plays a hybrid role 9 - 10 and sometimes 8 on the left, right hand side is empty when Rodrygo is on the left it's then occupied by Valverde or more likely by the right back Carvajal or Vasquez will Valverde drop deep. Kroos plays as a midfielder on the left but in reality he is a deep lying playmaker or a 6. All these factors confuse positions and the attacking patterns of Madrid inpredictable only madrid can play such way because of the high quality and versitality of their players but there are tactics to it as well they are low block counter attacking team who invite pressure and do fast transitions to attack this is nor the usual way madrid counter because we'll known as higher on the pitch middle block counter attacking with high numbers. This season they let the opposition dictate the play even again weaker la liga teams this gives the impression that Madrid are not playing well since now possession merchants, the tiki taka worshippers or the pep cult are ruling the football world as the way to play football Real Madrid play like Fluminense or Bologna. However it's also restrictive in a way that this team can play with the ball as well rather than being deprived of it and using only counters I hope with xabi alonso maybe we see a hybrid system a balanced between possession and counters

Lovely analysis. Even tho I've been a lifelong fan of football, since i live in the States, I've also been a lifelong neutral. I started watching more club football this year and just like you, fell in love with with the way Real Madrid play, enough to call myself a fan of them. My Barcalona supporting father (he spent his college years there) was aghast at my choice... his mistake for not impressing the love of Barca on me since i was a child Also, i do a lot of analysis of an esport i follow, and that combined with my knowledge of football means i do manage to pick up on when a higher level tactical moment happens a good amount... but not always exactly what is happening or why. Everything clicked into place for me with your explanation, just wonderful In my esport, because of how chaotic and layered the game is, its common for us to say "whichever team makes the least mistakes will win" and football can certainly be the same, especially at as high of a level as these two teams and managers are. That first goal kim had nothing to think about. He should had stuck to his position. Even though there was a gab between the defense and midfield for bayern on that first Madrid goal. There was no imminent threat. Second Madrid goal is kim inability to stay behind marker.

He had to be in that space coz he doesn't, a player like vini or rodrigo getting the ball and running straight back at you at full speed must be avoided. Where is Eric Dier in that first goal? Kim had too much work to do covering for that fraud ALL game. He did a great job outside of those two errors. It’s a shame he makes those errors but I don’t feel like enough thought has been put into WHY Kim makes those mistakes… both times it is because Dier is out of position leaving Kim with too much space to defend all by himself… mistakes from Kim, yes. But defending is about partnerships. James is right to point out the gaps between the defence and this is why we love James. He’ll show us beneath the surface level analysis you get on TV…
