The flow of the game was entirely dependent on Arsenal's physical intensity. When it slowed City climbed back into it. But any time Arsenal pushed the pace City were immediately overwhelmed. Serious serious issues for City Lots of credit to go around but personally shouting out Rice who started the season slow (Euros hangover) but has been fantastic in the last couple months and was again yesterday.

- Poor dribbler - below average finisher - poor heading ability despite being 6'4 At the end of the day he's not good enough to win us a league title. He was a failed experiment in midfield and OK upfront. But i can name STs from many other teams in the league who are significantly better.

Totally agree. He was not a failed experiment in midfield. We as a team just could not cope with less build-up strength for more attacking versatility. IN TERMS OF GOALSCORING you are totally right. There are probably 10+ strikers who are better AT THAT in the league. To think a modern forward is purely there to score goals is just stupid idk. I could make you a list with 10 attributes Haaland is shlt at too. Obviously goalscoring is not one of them! Not saying we dont need that goalscoring profile in our team. WE DO!!! Disrespect to pep is unreal, broken every record in the book, 100 points, domestic treble, continental treble, 4 in a row. 1 bad year does not mean it’s an “end of an era”, it seems like everyone is just desperate for him to leave the league tbh. Every manager has tough moments, got to take the rough with the smooth and come back stronger and he deserves the chance to prove that

I think you're right, but I actually think he has evolved too far into his extremes. His most successful teams, although based on systems, still embraced orchestrators and creativity. He has always had more than one orchestrator and playmakers, yet now his team is more "uniform" than ever.

Arsenal Fan and I think the team has seriously aged and that needs addressing. However Rodri is a game changer. There is no direct replacement for Rodri he does the job of 2 players, he's a literal cheat code. I'm not gassing up Guardiola, City or Rodri for the sake of it he's just that good. Elite ball winner and elite DLP. Guardiola will refresh his squad in the summer and then go again of course there is the personal side of things. Divorce is hard but he's still the best manager in the prem by a country mile.

Odegaard is still not back to his best and tbf he is no longer the "main man" of Arsenal. Not that he is THAT bad but he could stop being the first name on the teamsheet if we signed some quality creative midfielder. Rice, Partey, MLS, Havertz are all on better form ATM and we could see midfields without Odegaard starting in some games i think. Im sure though, he will pick up some form soon again.

I think you've completely misunderstood Havertz' run for the 4th goal. He doesn't go that way because he didn't want the ball, he went that way to isolate Stones 2v1 and leave Akanji to cover the huge space that Odegaard can run into. He's know exactly what he wants to do and commits to it straight away EDIT: I've just watched Sky Sports post match analysis and Thierry Henry agrees with me

I like James' content but to have that title and then go on to spend 12mins from the off talking about how Man City's lack of courage meant or gave Arsenal the game is disingenuous and tbh, reaching. Did Arsenal allow Man City to play this way or were Arsenal forced to? Were Man City not brave enough for those final third passes or were Arsenal quicker, smarter and also too physical to risk losing the ball? I feel it was rather sympathetic to a team that just spent 240m's in the winter window. And then to not give MLS his flowers cause 'we shouldn't jump the gun' on a 18 year old who is proving to be one of the best LB's in a league of men is just odd. Tbh if any time should have been spent talking about Man City is to talk about their failing talent and inconsistent players. Foden is a system player and Bernardo is neighbouring his counterpart in De Bruyne as an aging and immobile player. These players were great for a time (foden) or were greats (Bernardo, De Bruyne). Speaking of Man City in general, have they not just being figured out. In all honesty they are showing they only like to play one way - with the ball. Had Maresca showed up with more rigorous off-ball tactics las week and restricted the transition, I think we would be talking about Man city in a different way here.

James. Awsome analysis as isnpar for the course with your videos. Would love to know your thoughts on how much of an impact the 'lack of kyle walkers blistering recovery pace' is having on city defensively. I feel like they have always played the risky high line and walker has been the safety net. Rodri massively missed as an option for cbs to play too as well. Your clips of kovacic and silva drawn the the ball on the dame side I dont think would happen with Rodri on the pitch...2 key elements missing for me. Rodri obviously we all know but I think also walkers pace as the safety net is a huge miss...your thoughts?

I think tactically Peps system is a katastrophy. You cannot play a deeplying playmaker as your only defensive midfielder AND have the audacity to push your fullback forward aswell. Relying on Marmoush to close down MLS at the edge of your box is just terrible tactical setup. If Arsenal played Nwaneri instead of Rice and Sterling instead of Partey they would also have conceded 5 or more goals.
