Jameson Nathan Jones - Sanctuary Sessions (album)

As something of a return to where it all began for me, Sanctuary Sessions was the result of a series of improvisations at the piano. All the sound design elements of this album were taken from the piano, but at each piece's core is a freely improvised idea (often recorded in one take).

I had a friend who was a composer, he played the saxophone. His wife was a world-class pianist. He was going places: they had Philip Glass over for dinner occasionally, for instance. He lost his mind, wife and career to alcoholic insanity. His personality fragmented and he became homeless. I wish my friend didn't throw it all away. Not sure if he had any choice in the matter really. You remind me of him (before he lost it all), very savvy but a little goofy and with a good sense of humor. Don't lose your mind okay? And careful with the booze and substances. By the way, your music is intimate and moving.
