Your videos are the best drum technique lessons anywhere on the web. No one is breaking things down and explaining things like you do. Especially the concept of following the rebound for hands and feet. No one talks about this but it makes stick and foot control and the resulting sound so much more consistent. I think the fact you are a pro metal drummer means you have to have every aspect of your technique solid or else you cant reach the speeds you do. Even if I never need to reach your speed the stuff I am learning here makes things so much easier for me. Thanks and Congrats!

I use the trick dominators and have tried this but there's a point of where I am loosening my tension control job that the pedal just goes stiff and not limp. Any tips?

This is awesome I love heel down playing even tho I play in a rock/metal band I’d play heel down permanently if I could.

Heel down is a great technique! There are some extreme metal drummers that use it, but yeah, I think Rock needs more power and volume and the Heel down doesn't give you that unfortunately

There are so many variables I've come to consider when it comes to volume and power. My first approach to kit has been and always been heel down..strangely enough. Heel up never felt comfortable for me. But I've noticed of course after about 15 years of playing that the beaters, pedal drive system, as well as shells make a big difference to volume and punch. Needless to say, gonna take the tips of this video and attempt it in my personal drumming, cause a musicians work is never done😂

bigmikey690 I really envy the speed the heel up guys are able to achieve- but I’m stuck pretty much with Heel down,,,, I can play with a lot more control and quietly with heel down-- My understanding is heel up guys are mostly playing louder forms of music... Also when I try to play heel up my hips feel super uncomfortable in a short amount of time..
