Thank you so much for this lesson, it finally clicked for me. I've been drumming for about 18 months, practicing every day and subscribed to online lessons and still I have been holding the sticks incorrectly all this time. Instructors always talk about using the rebound but you're the only one I've actually seen demonstrate the complete motion properly.

Great informative video! I've been practicing free strokes for a week now and I am amazed how they improved my stamina, speed and control. I used only wrists for almost a year, the difference after couple of days of practice from this video is amazing. Thanks for the help!

question.how do you know where to apply each technique? ive seen someone recently use push pull for alternating singles , which i would have never used it for before.Id use push pull for groups of two or three with one hand.

In a very generic way, what I do is Iuse different muscles based on the speeds I'm playing at. Big muscles (arm and leg) for slow tempos and then wrists/fingers/ankles (that will then require different techniques) for faster tempos. I chosed the ones I preferred to use in my playing, like wrist motion (german) and swivel for the feet for example. Just make sure you do some steps to coordinate and apply them before jumping in and using them straight away.

If I realize the timing of the exercises is: 60-second set for an hour a day. I think this is what I realized ... Thanks, I'll get started and make feedback. 🥁👌

Aluminium sticks are may be the most underrated and unfairly ignored gear existing for drummers. Shops sell... everything, but try to find simple metal sticks without replaceable parts and any other useless options! Got simple aliminium sticks from one of Aliexpress shops just few days ago and already feel the progress.

It's very true, and most of the people use them to become stronger, which is the opposite of what they should do and then they hurt themselves! Glad they are working for you man!
