10 years ago I switched to a Cleveland mallet style from a Ping Anser. Best thing that ever happened to my game . Went from 36 to 38 putts per round to 27 putt average last year.

I've had TM, Odyssey and Ping putters in the past but recently bit the bullet and treated myself to a used but mint condition Scotty Newport 2. After years of sneering at people using Scotty's I am now a convert and can see why they are so desirable. Great looks, great feel and perfectly balanced. The only bladed putter I've ever felt confident using and so much nicer to look down at than a mallet. I will keep hold of my Odyssey V line just in case it all goes pear shaped with the Newport 2!!!🤞

I was highly amused that, ironically, the first putt that you hit with the SR in the opening credits (which is similar to the Odyssey #7, or even a rip-off of said putter) was with a Callaway ball!!! Interesting video!

Thanks for the update James.I am a spider x fan and have purchased the spider FCG at the end of last year. I dont like the new versions. The new TPU insert into the spider x and that would have been enough. New Office looks good.

I've been using the Tru-Roll putter for 2 years and I'm very accurate with it but I always want to improve my short game. So I went for a fitting yesterday for the Taylormade Spider EX. It gave me the forward roll vs the slight hop I was getting. I'm sold on the Spider Ex, I hope they release a version of the Ex with MySpider personalize add on.

I use an Odyssey Rossie. I think the TM putters are overpriced along with most of the premium putters from other brands. But you don’t mind the price that is your choice, for me I think any putter will work with a little practice.

Not for me James I have the Evenroll ER2. Have it in graphite with 2 degree loft and it flys turns them long putts into 2 putts knocked 10 or more shots off my round

If I swing my Spyder putter well, the ball will go in the hole. If I miss, it’s not the putter’s fault. I think the best thing about these new putters would be for those of us that want to get professionally fitted for a putter to be able to try Taylormade putters and have a greater variety to find one that fits the golfer’s tendencies. Also, dealers and fitters will have to spend more money to stock all of them 😂. Marketing 101.

What have they done? Sean Toulon designed the Spyder putters for Taylormade. He left Taylormade a few years ago (2016) and joined Odyssey. Which kind of explains why Odyssey putters have kind of taken on a similar look of the Taylormade from a few years ago and why Taylormade has moved on from the original Spyder look and construction. Part of the deal was the creation of the Toulon line putters that you've seen over the past couple of years.

Go look at them, the newport(2) are very good if you have an arc in your stroke buttoning at them varies massively, make sure you get the correct length as well if makes a huge difference

For reference I've got 2 scotty putters a T22 Newport 2 for quick greens and a gss tour rat for slower greens, both feel great but they perform very differently next to each other

Don't look anything like the older models. Taylormade seems to be continually changing the look/design to make them more appealing to tour pros (which in turn sells more putters). I'd like to see a battle between these new models and the older/larger versions.

Silly question for ya James. Why do you want everything slightly smaller but you can’t hit it out of middle all time so that would make clubs less playable, after watching 100’s of your videos it’s much the same, slightly smaller head would be good but then there is always of centred hits, I just find that funny, most amateur golfers ain’t needing smaller,

Mallets give more feedback when lining up and squaring up the putter head. Btw Rory sucks at putting (for a pro), streaky at best, he's 80th in strokes gained putting and 143rd in total putting.
