I've owned two spiders and a recurring problem is the paint rubbing off. This new blasted finish might be my next putter bc there's no paint to rub off. Fantastic of TM to listen to their customers

I've always liked the blade Bullseye putter by Acushnet. However, I gave it up for a Taylormade Rossa Imola 8 blade putter. Well balanced. I might invest in a Spider Putter in the future as I do like the feel of them and think I could make some putts on the course.

I wasn't a fan of their original Spider Putters, they looked too bulky and cumbersome IMO. But this new Spider X looks to be a big improvement and that new alignment aid on top should really help to get the ball started on the correct line👍

I have the ghost version which I have had since 2013. I love the feel, and put well with it, but I have serious issues with the paint quality on the head. It's peeled of the wings, making the putter look awful. This one despite all the marketing bollocks has been simply anodised gray the white possibly anodised as well as a first process polished smooth with water my a£&e. Mind it does look lovely, not badly priced oh, well reviewed

Hi Andrew, I know I am a little late to the party here but am really interested in this putter. Due to no stock locally to try what did you find different as to feel and this putter compared to the Spider Ex? and was your favourite? Due to the paint issue (if there is one) I am hedging more towards this version potentially but have you or your customers/students given you any feedback on these 2 putters aswell as your own thoughts? Really enjoy your honest videos and thoughts here and am trying to stay away from the TM marketing info! Thanks

I have a 2020 spider X which I ordered directly from TM custom shop. 32.5 inches, 3 degrees flat, Matte blue with no lines. Got the custom weight kit too, put 12 grams in each corner and still needed lead tape in order to get it to D5 SW. killed me to put lead tape all over the sole , even put some on the inside curves to avoid bulking up the bottom. But in the end no one is looking at the sole when you’re putting anyway. amazing feel on this one and definitely a smooth roll.

Great review! I see you have some Mizuno stuff in there. Have you hit the M Craft V? If so, how does its softness feel compared to the spider. Comparing milled and an insert I know. I just love softness!

I remember selling the Fisher putter in the late 1990's, was a good putter back then with a really soft feel off the face.

All painted TM putters start chipping within weeks of use, premium prices should come with premium quality.

Hi , that's an interesting comment you have made. I have no experience of Taylor Made putters, surely for a paint finish to chip it has to come into contact with something hard? If the putter cover is used correctly then I fail to see how the paint can get chipped under normal playing conditions.

@@andrewainsworth497 The velcro on their headcovers doesn't last very long, magnetic is a better option. Lots of videos about TM putters paint chipping on YT Andrew.
