I had an opportunity to see James Taylor in concert - and what is extraordinary is that during this song he is modeling what he is singing - he is looking around at the audience and you can see he is genuinely enjoying and appreciating and imprinting every blessed moment of these words, and what it means to have an opportunity to share his gifts with the world. What’s even better is - during intermission - he does not go back to the green room and isolate. He actually sits on the stage and signs autographs and talks with people. He genuinely enjoys the audience instead of seeing them as people to get away from. He’s a class act in every way, and has contributed to so many people. I listen to this song every single morning as part of my daily ritual to remember to make every day count and enjoy the ride. Thanks, JT. - Sam Horn

I saw him in Portland OR at the Moda Center which is where the Trail Blazer play. He was with Carol King, Danny Kortchmar, Leland Sklar, and Russ Kunkel. It was a joy to see him in concert, however, the venue was just to big. James Taylor was meant to be enjoyed at venues like he is in here. Either way, It's James Taylor!

My mother used to sing sweet baby james to me to help me fall asleep. Now that she passed away, James Taylor brings me bittersweet sadness/happiness. I used to tell my mom that one day, if i ever had a wish, it'd be for us to meet james Taylor.. i wish i could have gave her that memory.. there's plenty of other good memories still intact. I love you mom, i hope you're up in heaven schooling grandpa in darts and billiards.

I lived in Martha’s Vineyard in the 70’s and dated his brother Hugh for a brief moment! Never got to meet James and or Carly-both are musical mentors of mine.. Hugh took me in his Jeep to what was called Gayhead back then - they have changed it to Aquina now - but I still think the lighthouse is called the Gayhead Lighthouse and the Gayhead Cliffs! Those were the days!! He probably doesn’t even remember me, but I met him through my Vineyard friends who were all native to the island! I miss it but not the crowds or winters! I’m in Tennessee now!! Love it here! Thanks for reading!!

Please, do a special version of Up from Your Life. I sing it daily as I dip in the river. 💝🎁 I lost both my jobs during the ""event"" and the river called me to heal. At first I thought it was a little woo-woo weird, but that river is another level of beauty. (I do Wim Hof cold dips in the river.) One day I asked the river for a song for the dip, and it sent me Loggins and Messina's song, Run River Run. 😆 The next day I got your song, Up From your Life. ((The river is more powerful, healing and wiser than any person; healing me from a car accident.)) Anyway, what a treasure it would be if you put string and symphony arrangements in specific places throughout the song, Up From Your Life. I would be forever grateful as I listen to that song daily. It was your song that made me remember that I grew up the first 10 years of my life a few yards from a pond and creek. That song is calling out for a symphony arrangement to match the sound of singing orchestra that is the river water. 🙏🏼🎁
