this angelic man and his blessed song saved my life so many times in the 80's and early 90's. life was tough but i kept playing my JT album and this was and is my favorite song. my children and i saw him in concert with carole king at the oakland coliseum not so many years ago. it was like going to choir practice. all 18 thousand of us knew every word of every song, when to pause, when to speed up, it was so spiritual. thanks for my life, james.

Not too many singers sound this great just on a set like this... no back ups, no voice modulators, just a guy & his guitar!!!

So Poetic. I found this song by watching The Orville, where one of the characters sang this song, made me search for the original... and definitely not disappointed.

That's something that attracted my attention to this song - I try to be patient. Accepting the fact that we're all tied up with incongruity all-round. I heard it through Orville as well. I've actually got the sheet music for it.

One of my favorite JT songs. Criminal that they didn't show his hands playing though. He made complex acoustic guitar playing look smooth and effortless.
@onefoot75 жыл бұрын
Not complex at all, very simple, but a GENIUS arrangement,,definitely not complex...the Genius of James taylor is taking the very simple and arranging it in a way that is incredible....simple, but Genius, incredible

James, - lovely rendition of a WONDERFUL song. Lordy, I love this.... such - truth and authenticity. I love the later versions too, but this one is still wonderful. It seems sometimes as if there is an "apologetic" attitude in play -WHY? it is real and authentic. Reach out if you haven't grasped it yet - because you can -

James wrote a special song worthy of a live audience. Perhaps Carly could have given her vocals a try with him in a duet. Two unique singer/ songwriters who have amazing gifts. Back in the day, Dick Cavett only interviewed or showcased the best.
