Great frame and wheels so upgrading things like the drivetrain will make this a pretty nicely speced bike. I would do tubeless first because that alone will make the bike feel much easier to ride.

another great review, but after watching your Farley 5 review, I like the Farley 5 better as it has more mounting points. This Heyday is less expensive though.

How thick is the fork material that the fork accessory mounting bosses are mounted into? 🤷🏼♂️

I have one of these. Great bike but they missed the boat on rear eyelets. I am struggling to find a rear rack solution.

I'm not judging the worth of this beautiful bike and i love buying local but i couldn't justify that price. Just me i guess. Thanks for sharing this with us

The biking industry is crumbling because they produce so much product after the pandemic and people stop buying them..... you can get a salsa 2022 for about 900 bucks brand new

Max size on 26 inc 5.0 on fat bike plus 27.5 4.5mm

I think the best fat bikes are the older ones, pre 2018, modern geometry just doesn't work on a fat bike, shredding up the downhill its all good, but everything else requires more effort, unless it has a motor, but then it's in a different category.

We can't say Mukluk because it's a boot worn by people we can't call Eskimos anymore. Lol

Be better with a Wren 120mm suspension fork. Halo Wheels. 29x2.8 front/27.5x3.8 rear. Renthal carbon bar. And a chainring protector for stony trail abuse.

do you think if a bike fits 29x2.6 it might fit 27.5 x 3.8?

That's some PR spin at the beginning, they renamed the bike because they consulted some fuckwits that told them people would wet themselves if they continued on with the name of the bike. I'll post their exact statement:- "“In 2020, Salsa consulted with a third-party group to audit our product names for problematic or offensive vocabulary. The audit and other external feedback identified the Mukluk name - inspired by traditional indigenous footwear in arctic regions - as potentially problematic. With this in mind, we have chosen to change the Mukluk name for MY24. We have developed a new name, Heyday!, that speaks to our brand values and the platform’s ride experience. We recognize that we have appropriated and benefited from the use of an indigenous term, and we are working on a plan to support the affected communities. We will have more to share in the future“ The hilarious thing is, fat bikers have spoken to the indigenous people they were worried about offending, and they were annoyed that anyone would think they'd be offended. Call the bike a Mukluk.

Did I miss represent the name change? Figured it was worth explaining where this bike's name change came from.

Hi from the UK. I'm currently in the market for a fat bike and the Salsa Mukluk is one I've always aspired to! So the question is this :- If I bought a second hand Mukluk would I be complicit in the oppression of native American culture? Thanks!
@turboelephant629811 ай бұрын
@@13thdukeofwybourne69 I'm afraid that might be the case, and the native population of indigenous Inuits here in the UK would be extraordinarily offended and might no longer speak to you.
@13thdukeofwybourne6911 ай бұрын
@@turboelephant6298 I'm still not sure about the use of the term "Heyday" as a penitent rebranding. I think Salsa should have gone with something like the "Buffy Sainte-Marie" to capture the current progressive Zeitgeist.
@turboelephant629811 ай бұрын
@@13thdukeofwybourne69 Well I object to the cultural appropriation of the name "Salsa" either as a Latin American condiment, or the dance. I think they should re-brand themselves as the Silent Void, but then goths would probably get very angry.
@TwoWheelWarrior2 ай бұрын
They probably changed the name for cultural appropriation reasons.
