It's great to see this... I think what happens is we do things in a hurry and say oh it's just temporary and we never get back to doing it right... This is the right way and he is taking his time.

Good video! It also important to discuss the most important connections. The ones to the batteries. They should be clean, prepped, and absolutely free of corrosion. I believe ABYC and USCG require terminal boots to prevent cross shorting the terminal posts as well. Hardware should include a lock washer or add'l locking nut; NEVER use wingnuts. I keep a cheap, appropriately sized combo wrench in a ziplock next to the batteries in case of emergencies.

I always use Noalox in marine electrical connections as an additional barrier to help minimize potential corrosion problems.

Also a sealed box is nice for connections where moisture is present.

Why are many of the videos in this series deleted. It’s a shame as they are very good! I would really love to see the next video for instance. But it’s deleted :(

Nice and instructive video. But why only crimp? I always crip and solder.

sm6wet well crimped connections and heat shrink has always held up for me, some are almost 8 years old and i have a center console. soldering may be a good practice but i always feel its over kill

those first cutters and crimpers are a waste, better to spend more for a real set, almost impossible to strip without nicking the strands, for protection I've found the liquid electric tape coating works much better than most others such as shrink fittings, not as pretty but very secure and water proof in my experience. , IMHO
