I hope that the neck of the handles just below the head/crown area is thick enough. Remember what these are going to be used for: Repeated sideways pulling force at the crown end by hand. If the wood is too narrow at the neck, it will crack eventually.

Hi James -- Very nice. Looks like you have some old iron behind you (Delta or Craftsman/King-Seeley lathe?). Don't know what your plans are for it, but properly restored, that old lathe could be turning long after the Harbor Freight has gone to that big melting pot in the sky!

Very good vid! I was looking for some inspiration for a tooth pick dispenser and i thought of a King or a queen design and that brought me to your channel! The internal diam needs to be 1-1/4 in . I don't want to have them looking too obese, any suggestions for proportions ?

King is 5 tall - 2 at base. Think the queen is 1/4 shorter. Thank you for watching!
