Hey James! This project is definitely a lot of fun! My rooks are now finished (I posted the video a bit late) and I am now working on the knight. Right now I made 3 prototypes and I'm pretty confident the next one will be the final version! Stay tuned for my knight video probably later this week.

James Wegner Yea.. knights are definitely a different story, but I'm confident that I will be able to pull this out... I'm using more or less the same technique than you and after refining my design a couple of times, its now ok I think.

It's in the pawn video - boiled linseed oil/white shellac/shellac thinner (95% denatured alcohol) mixed 1:1:1.
