In his later years Tony ran a pet shop in Belmont, near Sutton called Nutkins. I worked in a unit just behind the shop. I remember one day he managed to lock himself out and he was quite panicked as to what to do. I told him to look the other way and I managed to open the door to his great suprise! I told him to get a better lock after that. I remember his lovely parrot (I think it was a parrot!) which if memory serves me correctly was called Kiki. Even when my business moved away we used to buy our pet supplies from Tony until we moved house. He was a very warm hearted, genuine guy with an obvious passion for what he did.
