I wish I could pull up the link to an interview he was in when he was asked about that. I remember him saying that they only didn't go past friends, for the sake of the show & not wanting things to get awkward. But they were gonna try it after the show ended, but I recall him saying, he didn't understand why they didn't try afterwards, they just ended up not going further, no specific reason. But I definitely remember him saying that every time he bumps into her, he always has a small regret of them not being more than good friends. Even she said something similar to that! I guess life happens!
