This movie is about my family member. I had left for college but my I remember my dad and others praying that he was freed because he did not do this crime because he was at a church function. I wish my dad was here to see this as he would be elated. Other family and me will be going Saturday to see it together. This didn't happen in the 60"s either, this was in the 80's and its still going on today. Black folk are at risk just for being black, but Black males are haunted like prey.

they also knew the show ROC. man blk ppl and white ppl live completely different lives sometimes. different cultural references and everything.
@VetInTheWater4 жыл бұрын
Im from Sweden, I dont get it:( Could somebody explain? Usually I get American cultural referenses, but not this one.
@Lil081034 жыл бұрын
@@VetInTheWater blk american men continue to be portrayed narrowly in news, film, and television as hypermasculine (thugs, sexually virile, wildly athletic, etc). these constant, unrealistic images shape real-life expectations that ppl place on us and that we place on ourselves and each other. one consequence is that it tends to make us hyper sensitive to being perceived as weak or gay. certainly, this is a core part of american masculinity at large, but it's even more intense and widespread among black men and boys. so whenever a man says smthng that can be perceived by others as even slightly homoerotic, many guys feel the need to affirm their heterosexuality aloud by saying "PAUSE" immediately afterwards. example: jamie said, "i was the only blk guy doing reagan. PAUSE." it was already clear that he meant he was doing reagan impressions, but in other contexts "doing" can mean fucking someone. so a 52 year old man, whom we already know to be heterosexual and whom we assume never even met president reagan, needed to signal to viewers that he didn't mean 'doing' reagan in a sexual way and, thus, he's not gay. because blk american culture is so influential, now many non-black guys use PAUSE as well. it's actually pretty dumb, especially coming from a middle aged man.
