So I'm not Jewish, but this was a fantastic family meal. I just made all of these except the carrot salad. Substituted with cucumber due to carrot allergy. Everything was delicious. Thank you and Shalom my new favorite KZbinr.

Jamie Geller the carrot salad looks great! My mom makes a meal called chicken oreganta it’s an Italian meal much like the chicken. We use cheese on it which isn’t kosher but you can not add it. Take the chicken same way shove fresh basil in if! She made it last nightz

The julienne carrots with hot sauce, garlic etc. can be grated quickly in the food processor so dont have to julienne for hours.Or you can cook whole carrots and slice them, then use same sauce as on the raw carrots, its different texture but just as good. Thanks for all the excellent recipes.

I think I have the same tea set those little cups that had the date honey in them came from. Cost Plus, yeah? I LOVE Carrot salad. I add a little bit of red wine vinegar to add a little extra sweet-tart kick. I think I'm going to basically make this menu tonight. Shabbat Shalom!

Thanks for ideas!. I was there was a way to avoid the use of so much oil! I don't even use cooking spray as has canola!. Olive oil is healthy but too much not good and very caloric. Great ideas and I like your enthusiasm.

Jamie Geller I made it for shabbos and again afterwards to try and make some better notes. The first time I found the carrot salad to be little bitter and earthy so the second time I added some raisins and coriander with less parsley and that was a real hit with my parents. The chicken definitely needs to be browned on all sides before braising, and the second time I added some dried chillis and cumin to the vegetables and the flavours were way more vibrant and enjoyable. The malabi was great though I can’t have nut milks and soya and rice milks were flavour disasters but it turns out oat milk is the way to go! I’ll definitely make this all again after Tisha B’av
@jamiegeller5 жыл бұрын
@@jamietate3526 Thanks so much for the specific notes, love to see other suggestions. And so good to know about the oat milk, it's also good with coconut milk, but richer and fattier.

Yes and yes, just cook and whisk often over low heat. Any thickening starch will work.

If you grow your own veg, this can be a really good quarantine meal. Onions and garlic last a long time. The tomatoes and chickpeas are tinned. Couscous can last for years.

so no fish no chala no dips no soup no salad and this is called shabat meal in under an hr you should've just wrote chicken recipes with couscous
@kristinesharp62867 жыл бұрын
There was a carrot salad. She has said she doesn't always do soup with kids. There is no challah but that does take more than an hour, make different day? If you must have fish it doesn't take especially long. If you wanted soup you could use a freezer version from a double batch and reheat.
