In the northern province of Groningen in the Netherlands we have a similar product. It is called a "poffert". It has self-raising flour (or regular wheat flour, buckwheat flour and yeast), currants, raisins, milk, eggs and salt as ingredients. It is eaten with melted cream butter and syrup or sugar. Soo delicious.
