The fact that she hasn’t been afraid to age gracefully, that she shows off her wrinkles with pride, that she doesn’t dye her hair (apart from movie roles), the fact that she 10000000000% loves her family and is supportive of her trans daughter Ruby is inspiring. Jamie Lee Curtis is now thought of as down to earth and humble. But I remember working at a mall near Beverly Hills in the mid 80s. It was a pet store and it was packed with people. Ms. Curtis came into the pandemonium, and stood sort of at the center of the entrance, looking around. All associates, myself included, were swamped. So no one rushed over to ask if she needed help - it was obvious to anyone observing why this was. Suddenly, she yelled above the din of the store, "Don't you know who I am???!!" Our marvelously cynical cashier yelled back, "No! Should we??!!" She stormed out. Wonder what humbled her and when.

Normally I couldn’t care less about peer award shows. Not a fan of a group of people patting themselves on the back, wearing exorbitant clothing and jewels, getting thousands of dollars in freebies, all the while frequently lecturing the rest of the world on how to live.
