Jamie Lee Curtis In Tears Thanking Late Parents After Winning 1st Oscar

Jamie Lee Curtis has won her first Oscar at the 2023 Academy Awards! On Sunday night, the 64-year-old actress won for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Everything Everywhere All At Once," and she started off her acceptance speech by thanking a long list of people. Jamie Lee continued by thanking her family, including her famous parents, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, who were both nominated for an Oscar, but never won. She broke down in tears remembering her late parents.

I am happy for Ms. Curtis I was honored to work with her on the set of True Lies. I was on the security team she was very kind and gracious to me in particular. She laughed at my jokes and was always engaging between scenes. No EGO to speak of and she remembered my name all day every day, which is a testament to her acceptance speech and her personal reaction when her name was called. I sincerely feel that "we" won an Oscar! Good for you & the legacy of your family. Tony Curtis & your Mom always knew that "we" could do it! Congratulations!!

True Lies is still one of the best action-comedy films ever made. You deserve to be proud of all that hard work. Apparently Robin Wright said that when they filmed Princess Bride, even though Jamie Lee Curtis wasn't in it, Jamie decided to stay with her husband Christopher Guest on set. And she cooked for the cast and crew, even inviting them to where they were staying. According to Robin Wright, Jamie Lee Curtis is an excellent cook and hospitable.

Angela Bassett should of won her career and performances were better than Jamie Lee’s whole career. Jamie has very famous parents who gave her clout in Hollywood, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh never won a Academy Award why not give one to there daughter. Idk why but maybe it's really the culture thing coz America seems to make the big deal out of nepo babies in entertainment industry so much. In our country, these considered nepo babies even being formed in special group / production number in a show. And, we don't really make a fuss out of it. Because WHETHER we like it or not Nepotism especially in showbiz exists, & will continue to exists. People will watch them, follow their journey as artist because obviously their parents are well know but these nepo will need to work extra hard to really show they got that "IT" factor or else they will end up in a deep hole of internet shaming until it's them who will decide to give up their career coz of too much backlash on having no talent or not living up to their parents' name. You give credit to parents coz at the end of the day, nepotism is still nepotism, but don't also take credit out of someone who clearly works hard to make a mark on the industry.
