They should use this as a Never use a mobile phone/ text while driving advert from 03:06 to the end and give as a THINK!! You can't do two things at once. So many reasons it should be an instant ban and an arrestable offence rather than 6 points and £200 make it An instant Ban for minimum of 5 years and a £5000 Fine!!!, and they call it zero tolerance to no phones well it's not if you keep your license and get 6 points and £200 you'd still allowed to drive off , it's so so stuipid to say zero tolerance in that case. A zero tolerance is a Ban for 5 years and 5 k fine!! What does it take for people to stop unless it happens to them so sad

9FORDIE9 No, I'm being serious. I don't feel comfortable or confident in learning how to drive in case I inadvertently cause an accident of some kind. One time, when we were driving along a road, a rabbit suddenly jumped out at the last moment. My dad didn't have time to stop and ended up squashing the rabbit. So that's another reason why I don't feel confident in taking up driving lessons because I fear I may end up doing the same thing. Not to mention my numeracy skills are crap and I'm autistic.

Andrew Chapman hello. Well, I suppose if that's your decision then nobody really has the right to disagree. But I would say, as someone who has been driving for 9 years, you're probably doing yourself a huge injustice. I mean, what if everyone adopted your stance? We'd never get anywhere or achieve anything. You are of course right in that there is a risk factor in getting behind the wheel but that's the case with anything. You or I could fall down the stairs at anypoint... And that's probably statistically more likely than being involved in a serious road traffic accident. Have you considered just giving it a go? You might be a natural and I certainly wouldn't advocate not driving just because you've got autism (I accept I don't know the severity) or the fact you're not a maths whizz. It'd be a shame to deprive yourself of such a fabulous thing.
