Since Rice will not be dropped we need to figure out which player is best to pair with him in midfield. For me it's Angel Gomes. The kid is always looking for the ball in tight spaces and is press resistant!

If you watch Rice week in week out you can see he is fatigued, the guy needs a rest, that's why he isnt performing at his top level. The guy played at 100 percent intensity 2 seasons in a row, hardly missed a game then played every minute of the Euros going into this season, he is knackered. The problem with Rice is that his 70 percent is better than 90 percent of CM/DM's, so he continues to get picked for England.

To be fair to the Greeks, I don't think anybody was beating them last night. They were all determined as a unit to do whatever it takes to honour their teammate. New formation, no strikers, tinkering with the team. I don't think any of it mattered last night. Greece are always a passionate team whenever anybody plays them. They never just roll over for anyone. Yes we could've been better. I just think a bit of perspective is needed regarding last night's game. If its the same next time, I'd worry.

Greece were good at retaking possession. They dominated midfield while ours was non existing. We didn't have a striker to put away a couple chances. It was a complete clown show.

Rice needs support and balance •Pick one out of foden and palmer. Yeh, it was Declan Rice's fault that the defence was non-existent, the midfield comprised of Rice, and only Rice. 7 attackers, 1 midfielder and 2 defenders, with no cohesion and Pickford giving his worst ever performance. Yeh, it's definitely Rice at fault.

This Arsenal fans don’t like the reality of football. Rice is no Rodri and can’t dictate the tempo of the game or be alone because he’s not elite. An elite midfielder is aware of his surroundings and that’s not Rice. Rice only breaks play and you need more than that attribute to dominate any midfield.Jude should have played alongside him. Foden played 10 and made no single forward pass, while Palmer did more forward passes while playing deep. Saka did not take on his player 1v1 not even attempting.

The England manager stated himself they practiced the system they played for 30 minutes in training. The Carsley, Cole need to be sacked asap. Very clearly not up to the job on any level. You could get the worse team on a Sunday play better than England. Rice sitting in front of the defence, should have stayed in the changing room cutting up the oranges for half time & full time. Rice would have been more useful doing that. The defence in total cannot tackle, totally pointless. As for the rest of the team seem to be running round like headless chickens. Clearly the system doesn’t work, a they had no plan B. Which means carsley & Cole are well out of their depth. What an embarrassment

Football is my second sport but Rice is just not a deep lying playmaking midfielder. He is a great 8 running forward as he does for Arsenal. Rodri is miles ahead as a player but they shouldn't be compared as they have completely different characteristics.

Bellingham more a 10 position than 8, so pick another player who can play good with rice.. they don't need too play saka and foden so much.. and find backup for rice..
