This is one of the only scenes in which Jamie has annoyed me. It doesn't matter that nothing happened the other woman thought the intent was there. And he felt aroused by the experience. The rape and torture he endured doesn't really excuse or explain that.

I think both Jamie and Claire's reaction are quite reasonable actually - the point is that there was a problem and now the problem is finally out in the open. They can start working on it.

Hannahpauline the logic behind it doesn't make a lot of sense. I know survivors that have either turned promiscuous or complete abstained from sex after assault. But why would Jamie allow a stranger to touch him and not someone he knew and trusted.

In a way, sex is a connection to the partner but also an association to the abuse they lived. It may seem easier to be with a stranger, who cannot make comparisons, or who is not so emotionally attached to you, and therefore, less demanding. Partners may be very patient, like Claire was. But there is a certain ownership implicit in the relationship, which in the victim's eyes may ressemble, vaguely, the exercise of power from the rapist.

Noemi 17 it took me a while to be intimate with anyone without it causing me extreme anxiety. I don't speak on behalf of everyone though as that would be narrow minded. Jamie owes his whole recovery and survival to Claire. She dragged his ass back from the deep and he was being aloof and selfish throughout the whole pregnancy. Not just the intimacy he was being an inattentive ass.

Jamie has been going to these parties to accompany the king and at the heat of it a very experienced french woman has thought him about the ways of pure lust, since he doesnt really care for her, which is completely different from what she learned from claire which is love and randall who completely destroyed that love with fear. claire thought him how to love, randall broke that love french girl thought him LUST which helped him seperate most of his emotions and experiences.

Because his rapist psychologically tortured him and coerced him into seeing Claire’s face as he assaulted him. He couldn’t be intimate with her because he unconsciously associated her face with his rape. That was JBR’s intention. To destroy every part of him. Especially the love he had for his wife.

Realmente esta escena me causo rabia hacia Jamie, pues desde que ellos llegan a francia el no vuelve a estar con Claire, y como si pudo en el burdel dejarse llevar por una prostituta. Es cierto que la amarga experiencia que tuvo con JBR, no es algo facil de digerir y olvidar, pero en realidad se olvidó del amor que sentia por Claire, segun los libros cuando Jamie sufre este ataque por parte de Randall, y es llevado sl convento por Claire, a los dias siguientes él tiene relaciones con Claire. Y ahi es donde queda embarazada de Faith, entonces no entiendo por que cuando llegan a Francia, el se desentiende de Claire y su bebe, y no vuelve a intimar con ella, y por que si con una mujer de la vida, senti tanta rabia y me coloque en los zapatos de Claire, se supone que Claire es su esposa, y la mujer que el ama, entonces por que serle infiel?.. This is the only time i hated Jamie, cheating is never justified, it doesn't matter what happened to him 🙄, he felt something for other woman, and besides something did happen between them, cause she blew him and he might have done the same to her, that is cheating, and worse than cheating, getting involved with an unhealthy woman and putting in danger your own wife with the risk of bringing a disease to her, honestly r4pe didn't justify cheating or attempting to, man up and be responsible for your actions, don't blame coward acts on a past and sad situation as r4pe, i wouldn't accept it if other woman saw my man's D or even licked it, how could i even live with that? Is disrespectful to me, and is betraying my trust, cheating is never okay and is not a mistake, is a coward choice you make on your own, no excuses, no nothing, you choose to cheat because you want to, so.. Book Claire: feisty strong sometimes selfish , is physically strong and not ashamed to use her strength when needed, she is described as being broad shouldered medium height with wild curly hair and huge amber /yellow eyes .
