Nice! The OC-3 is one of my most useful tools for years. Speaking of the pedalbord, I would add one compressor and one eq. Makes a huge diference even with subtle settings

For those looking for an even smaller footprint, the TC Electronics Plethora (3 or 5) is and amazing tool based on the individual needs of the player: Looper, Phaser, Reverb, Delay, Octave, Compressor, etc... and all assignable into the chain. It's a great all in one fly rig.

Wish the plethora included the BodyRez - it would be a perfect all in one for acoustic. However, the flashback delay suffers with the mash function. Can you turn it to tap tempo on the plethora?

Thanks Jamie...great stuff. I've been relying on my very old Boss GX 700 multi effects unit for my acoustic, even tho it was designed for electric. The advantage is it's all in one box, but limited in what I can use for acoustic. This helps me figure out options and advancements for my live setup. Been looking at what Mike Dawes has, too. Awesome playing, btw.

Nice video and board. I have the Neunaber Slate with the EXP expansion. I’ve always run the OC-3 in poly just to get bass as I play. Will have a go at running the Seraphim shimmer into the different oc3 modes. I’ve found my Taylor’s ES2 piezo system respond well to the TC BodyRez. Comments about compression are interesting. I think you can allow for a wider dynamic range as a solo artist. In a band I use an optical compressor to sit in the mix. I also decided to run stereo and use a HX1 =>> Halo =>> Cloudburst (replaced my Slate). I have a stereo DI which sums to mono if the stereo option isn’t viable. What are your favourite modulations to use with acoustic?

Should make you a video of my rig. I play outdoors so everything’s got to be battery operated. I’m also playing in stereo on top of a Tonewood amp. So really you have four sounds. Left amp has a slight delay and the right amp also has delay but in a different time signature. It taps back and forth. The Tonewood gives me a hall reverb across the two. Lot of EQ to get the most out of it without getting muddy. This is used at concert level in the middle of the woods. No one can hear it cause no one is within miles. It’s counterintuitive.

Nice job! No Compressor, huh I'm still working out which comp to use on my rig and where in the chain. Currently running two, a Mini Dynacomp which is excellent at killing feedback (mystery science in that thing) when set real low, and a mini Ego that has good blend and light/dark functions. Might just keep both on!
@JamieDupuisMusicianАй бұрын
Nice good to know!!
@chucklakeridge794429 күн бұрын
@@JamieDupuisMusician The other thing I'm starting to appreciate about the little Dynacomp - it really warms up the tone - for better or worse depending on whether your setup is already on the warm side. With a piezo (which I usually hate), the squashing helps to even out low mids w/o adding mud. Anyways, my 2 cents..

Cool board and great pedal choices, and nice playing. A question - Is there enough empty space under the board to allow you to tuck the short connecting cords underneath out-of-sight, and out of the way? Thanks for sharing this board and your pedals. Great job!
@JamieDupuisMusicianАй бұрын
Yes there’s enough empty space, very well designed!! I bought another pedalboard that wasn’t powered and I find it’s a mess trying to source my own power, this way it’s so much cleaner looking and more efficient, especially if I’m in a rush to a gig!

Thanks for the video ! I had a similar pedalboard a few years ago and switched to a Helix Floor. Even found a way to make a polyphonic octave effect similar to the OC3. But am thinking of going back to separate pedals. Have you noticed that the OC3 works best with magnetic pickups? I struggled to get the tone and accuracy of the effect with my SBT pickups. It sounded OK withy K&K Trinity. But not even close to your sound.
@JamieDupuisMusician2 ай бұрын
What I’ve noticed when it comes to any acoustic is that you need both magnetic pickups and another pickup, either the pickup has a mic, or you can use the K&K with a magnetic. I used to run the OC3 with the K&K and then have the magnetic through reverb and it sounded great! However if I was to only use the K&K alone it wouldn’t cut it. Acoustics have a wide tonal spectrum and needs to cut through the system, you can also really adjust your EQ settings when you have two pickups, I use one for more bass and the other for more treble, it really works well!
@jdotte2 ай бұрын
@ agreed! My K&K trintiy is a SBT and mic. I recently started splitting and panning the two signals, running the Helix octave effect only through the SBT. And it sounds better, the lower octave traces faster than when blended with the mic. I wonder if the OC 3 is even better with a mag pickup? I tried it once with the LR Baggs M80 and it was fantastic

I have another video coming with my full set up, this was for on the fly I were to chose 4. But the reason I don’t have compression is because I have two mixers, they both have compression. One is a Yamaha and the other is the EAE mixer & the acoustic amp as well!

but that's not an acoustic guitar! it's practically an electric guitar with a hollow body. The pedals react differently to the use of pickups, as found in electric guitars (and in your guitar) and to piezoelectric elements that are used in acoustic guitars.

Two decades of playing made you a great musician and virtuoso guitar player. Maybe need a few years more for "salesmanship" (or not...since you're too polite, reserved and lack the "bombastic gene" of a Hoser). 1) Try to get a hold of a Maton "Australian" guitar, it will negate the need for an OC-3 (which only boosts the muddy bass of most acoustic guitars). Do you use the OC-3 on the Harp Guitars? 2) Hopefully you got more than a ~$100 product from Vangoa for this 20 min infomercial. They owe you big time!
