The artist did one thing that is hard to do; he kept the emotion of the original song. It may be simple to copy the notes of a song, but to be able to entice me to feel the same thing as Pink does when I listen to their version is a feat not to be trivialized. Good job!

I think that Roger Waters and David Gilmour would be pleased with this rendition. I certainly am pleased with it. You retained the mood and, I think, even augmented it somewhat by playing in a subdued manner and with a tinge of blues. And I didn’t even know that harp-guitars existed until seeing this video! Very interesting!

@@kelhawk1 that backing track and the solos were played at a reduced tempo. Played at full speed would be better, as would using more bending/slides and hammer-ons/pull-offs rather than so much picking. After-all its the multistep bends and the blend of other techniques above giving the smoothness and "silky-ness" which sets Dave Gilmour's style apart from others

Gosh, you know - I always felt like Comfortably Numb is a critical song-- that it's about how in adulthood you become numb to life and just go through the motions, while in childhood you had hopes and dreams which you later completely forgot. ("The child is grown, the dream is gone, I have become comfortably numb") Like you're no longer happy or sad anymore, you're just numb-- and you're okay with being numb like that ("comfortably" numb) - but it's still not happy.

right there with ya on the Floyd wagon... i read an interview (circa 199?) where Gilmore said he intentionally pays more laid back/slower than most modern guitar players of that time because he, personally , felt that you can say more with just a handful of notes, if done tastefully, than you can with a thousand played rapidly.. this was the Yngwie Malmsteen era where if a guitarist was fast then he was a god..

I am lost to the idea of giving this a thumbs-down. No matter the music you prefer (if not Pink Floyd, why click on this?!?), this is an amazing piece of music. Not just the talent behind what is being done but the creative re-wright that was done. Lots of people are great at guitar, lots of people are great at writing music...but to rewrite a piece so known to the world is not only brave, but inspiring. Jamie, this song is an inspiration and could not have been done any better than you did. I have heard re-makes of this song a lot and your version is by far the best. The unforgiven version is really good as well. My I suggest attempting to remake Nuevleo Bianche by Vincent Charbonnier? This is a great song that you would make into yet another masterpiece.

Sir.. I wanted you to know something.. your talent is indescribable.. the music you make is nothing short of awe inspiring. I'm dealing with a very dark period of my life. These last few videos of yours.. have had me staring off at the wall.. just getting entranced by what I'm hearing. For a moment forgetting what I have going on. Thank you

You're incredibly talented. It's one thing to know how to play a song, it's another thing to *know how to play* . Flawless, well done.
