Lyrics: Can I, can I save you from you 'Cause you know there's something missing And that champagne you've been sippin's Not supposed to make you different all the time It's starting to feel like the wrong thing to do girl 'Cause with all that recognition it gets hard for you to listen To the things that I must say to make you mine But live girl, have some fun girl, we'll be fine Trying to convince myself I've found one Making the mistake I never learned from I swear I, always, fall, for your type, yeah (for your type) Tell me why I, always, fall, for your type (for your type) I just can't explain this shit at all (fall for your type) I just can't explain this shit at all (fall for your type) So who am I to judge you on the past, girl I bet there's a reason for it all You say that you're nothing like the last girl I just pray that you don't let me down right now It's too late, I'm already yours You just gotta promise me, hearts won't break And end up like before I swear I, always, fall, For your type, yeah (for your type) Tell me why I, always, fall, For your type (for your type) Uh yeah uh Look, dress hanging off your shoulder, barely sober Telling me how you moving away and starting over Girl, quit playing you just drunk, you just saying shit Oh you dance, dance like how, like ballet and shit Oh, wait, no, I get it girl, I'm with it I've been down this road before and yeah I skidded but forget it Damn, damn, I wonder why I never learned my lesson It's feeling like the second chance and its the first impression And I heard it's nothing new except for someone new But how you supposed to find the one when anyone will come with you Talking to myself but I never listen, 'Cause man it's been a while, and I swear that this ones different That's why I'ma take you anywhere you wanna go Let you meet my friends so they can lecture me again about How reckless I have been And I'm slowly running out of all the time that I invested Making all the same mistakes And I'm just trying to correct it and I fall I swear I, always, fall, for your type, for your type Tell me why I, always, fall, for your type, for your type I just can't explain this shit at all (fall for your type) I just can't explain this shit at all (fall for your type)

One of the things I love most about this song is the young naivety of the lyrics. I'm the same age as Drake and it's fascinating listening to the his lyrics knowing that that is how I felt or approached relationships at the time (2010). It's crazy how raw, open and optimistic I was. If anything, age and experience has made me more cynical and it takes me a long time to build up any kind of trust. I do miss the feeling of being that open and this song gives me a special reminder of that

Can I, can I save you from you 'Cause you know there’s something missing And that champagne you’ve been sippin’s Not supposed to make you different all the time It’s starting to feel like the wrong thing to do girl 'Cause with all that recognition it gets hard for you to listen To the things that I must say to make you mine But live girl, have some fun girl, we’ll be fine Trying to convince myself I’ve found one Making the mistake I never learned from I swear I always fall for your type, yeah (for your type) Tell me why I always fall for your type (for your type) I just can’t explain this shit at all (fall for your type) I just can’t explain this shit at all (fall for your type) So who am I to judge you on the past, girl I bet there’s a reason for it all You say that you’re nothing like the last girl I just pray that you don’t let me down right now It’s too late, I’m already yours You just gotta promise me, hearts won’t break And end up like before I swear I always fall for your type, yeah (for your type) Tell me why I always fall for your type (for your type) Look, dress hanging off your shoulder, barely sober Telling me how you moving away and starting over Girl, quit playing you just drunk, you just saying shit Oh you dance, dance like how, like ballet and shit Oh, wait, no, I get it girl, I’m with it I’ve been down this road before and yeah I skidded but forget it Damn, yeah, I wonder why I never learned my lesson It’s feeling like the second chance and it's the first impression And I heard it’s nothing new except for someone new But how you supposed to find the one when anyone will come with you Talking to myself but I never listen, 'Cause man it’s been a while, and I swear that this ones different That’s why I’mma take you anywhere you wanna go Let you meet my friends so they can lecture me again about How reckless I have been And I’m slowly running out of all the time that I invest in Making all the same mistakes And I’m just trying to correct it and I fall... I swear I always fall for your type, for your type Tell me why I always fall for your type, for your type I just can’t explain this shit at all (fall for your type) I just can’t explain this shit at all (fall for your type)

One of the best songs ever to be produced in the 2010s. One of the beautiful bridge songs between 2000's and 2010's r&b styles. I hope this doesn't get lost in t he next 15 years. The drake adlibs. The slow BPM. Masterful.

Well good luck bro...there are plenty of good women out there but, there are also plenty of women who are dramatic, and just cannot learn the practice of self-control. Most of the women that I've been in a relationship with have not been able to cope with issues stemming from their childhood - issues affecting their ability to consider how others feel, to react in a calm manner, to have self-esteem even though they're sexy, to not be selfish, etc. That all doesn't matter with jump-offs, but with your partner it does matter. And although you'll be the only one there for them, you'll also be the one that they take their frustrations out on. I've felt like saying "Fuck It, I'm done" but when you find the one that you think it's worth fighting for you'll be able to handle it. Sometimes it still doesn't work out that well. Let me guess, women feel the same way?
@SoofiaaaD
@SoofiaaaD 10 жыл бұрын
Caine, I so agree with you. The fact that girls act and react in the way you describe doesn't only come back from their childhood. It's also the fact that the society we live in makes us feel insecure and sort of afraid to lose what we have . And I can know as I am a girl myself. I am 21 years old now and boys have been cheating on me, calling me ugly because I don't have big boobs and too thin... Lots of people tell us that there's one certain way to be. You must have this, act like that, say this and do never say this, to be the woman men want. Lots of girls don't get affected by it but there are lots of girls who get insecure and may react the way you describe. I agree with what you say, but I have had the same experience with men. They can't handle their feeling either, like in a grown up way and that annoys me too
@garcia.d
@garcia.d 10 жыл бұрын
SoofiaaaD Yea you have a point...society does have a "standard image" now for what they want women to be, but don't ever let a guy make you feel insecure. Big boobs will make your back hurt anyway...an ex used to complain about that to me all the time...lol.
