I think it depends on your expectations. To me, Move is fantastic for creativity and immediacy. The creative process is different on Move compared to Push or Live.

Amazing demonstration of how to "push" the limits on Move! -- For that last melody track, did you combine that with another track? You've got chords, drums + accent, bass, and arp -- which makes four tracks, and then the melody which makes five. Sorry if I'm missing something!
@boxprogramming1316 күн бұрын
You can have multiple samples playing inside one track, which is what he's doing. So if you're using sampling or resampling, it's effectively 4 x 16 tracks
@jxmieblake16 күн бұрын
The way I see it, this has 6 tracks worth of sounds. Drums, bass, filtered warm piano, lead melody, arp and bright piano. The arp and bright piano were resampled together, but they started as two distinct tracks.

@ My pleasure! You packed so much knowledge in this video, just enjoying the content does not do it service. As I often tell my student: pratice what he’s showing and you’ll make real progress. Question: I don’t have a Move yet, but I do own a Push 3 standalone. I guess I can do a large amount of what you show here on my Push. But which part of the video do you think is IMPOSSIBLE to replicate on a Push 3 SA?
@jxmieblake14 күн бұрын
First thing that comes to mind is the built-in mic + sampling/resampling workflow. It’s unique to move and can’t be replicated exactly the same way on push.
@calixtetayoro571914 күн бұрын
@ Yes, it’s Move’s secret weapon on its BIG brother Push. Your bass trick is sooo cool.

This was awesome, but this exactly shows a dilemma I have: there's not much more you can do with this on Move, so it will never turn in a real track there; and when moved to Live it will also have a lots of stuff already baked in resampled audio and drum rack(s) with practically uneditable MPE Pitchbend modulation, so you can't or won't edit that either. There needs to be a way to have a track preset & its clips stored in the project Set, disabled & invisible on the Move but available from the level of Live project when exported, so we could comfortably resample stuff without fear of losing the source "data".
@jxmieblake14 күн бұрын
You can duplicate the set before resampling to preserve the source material.
@Artek60414 күн бұрын
@@jxmieblake Yes, I know but I'll need all those sets when I want to retrieve the MIDI & devices in Live, but Ableton Cloud allows for up to 8 sets. It requires a lot of effort, planning & discipline :)
