Not a surfer but enjoy watching the good ones. Just wondering if there would be an advantage on a quad fin board to place only 2 of them diagonal to each other (one high and one low) on either side. Would or could this be advantageous on right or left waves or maybe more stable. Just curious if you've ever done that and what the results were if any.
@maxalvarez91412 жыл бұрын
No one does that.
@josephsmith38702 жыл бұрын
I’ve never heard of that kind of set up but there are some boards that support a funky combo of fins. You could look at something like an asym board. Usually it’s a hybrid of two different boards the feature is that it’s asymmetrical. In some case you have a single twin fin on one side and two quads on the other. With these types of boards they tend to have an element on unpredictability. To speculate, I think if you had the fins diagonal then the board would turn different (each side would have a different turning radius). You might also feel it tug to one side vs the other when trying to go in a straight line. You could probably still surf it, but it would take some getting used to.
