I made this 3 days ago just as Jamie instructed and my husband and I are still talking about it! It was sooo good. I'm going to assume those eggs were washed before cooking. I sometimes find grey poop stuck to eggs, which would stop. me from re-using the water to cook anything in,

I don't know if eggs are washed when they come to the shelves in the grocery store in GB but they are not in Germany. So cooking anything in the water which had been used to cook eggs before would just be gross.

If you're really worried about that you could just give the eggs a quick run under the tap before dropping them in. Either way it's nothing to worry about, the water is boiling so anything harmful that may have been on the surface of the egg is going to be killed anyway. Food we eat all the time has dirt, poop etc. on it. Potatoes as an example literally grow in soil, even if you wash them before cooking you really think you've gotten everything off?

@@clintwestwoodredeployed7767 In the US they are, but they're not in the UK and EU. That's why over here we don't need to refrigerate eggs, the protective layer the egg has on it when it's laid keeps it safe to be stored at room temperature.
