I may dilute Old Glory a little more. 4-1 is really good and strong. You can get away less. I've done 4 vehicles at this point and have not been disappointed. 💪 🔥

I use paint brushes to apply the vinyl and rubber dressings and let it sit until I have all of the areas done then walk around with the cloth to wipe it down. I have learned how to use just enough to leave enough dressing with the brush that I don't over apply on the tires. I don't lose much product to the towel and the brushes don't leave behind the dry spots or wet spots a applicator or towels do. I have my Truck and wheels coated and with Snake Oil on them any following wash is amazing. Wheels are the worse but coated and snake oil as a topper the effect of the soaps and pressure washer (Turbo Tip) on following washes are amazingly good. I have Snake Oil in a sprayer and reapply after each wash on the Wheels because I drive through some nasty road offerings from a concrete company and the powders they have show up ugly on the black wheels but is trapped in the snake oil. I use Maguires Gold Class for maintenance washes for a very long time but I used Stars and Stripes in the spring and fall just for this past summer and fall for the first time and was impressed. I have yet to try the Old Glory. I am slow to change especially after just starting using ChemX.

How does this compare to the Stars and Stripes? 1 step vs 2, 1 product vs 2…same cleaning quality? Safer on coatings or sealants?

I’m skeptical Old glory’s main ingredient is caustic soda. With how much it’s browning tires.. I’m wondering what it’ll do to plastics and seals over time.
@hjholmes11 күн бұрын
I had the same thought, and this is the main reason that I have been hesitant about purchasing Old Glory. There is no way that eventually it doesn't start eating away at the trim, clear coat, rubber, plastics, etc. I'm guessing that diluting it down would help substantially, but even then it is probably going to eventually start doing some damage. I would imagine that Stars & Stripes is probably safer, even though Stripes uses caustic soda, as well. At least it is balanced out by the sulfamic acid in Stars.

Nice video Jamie! I do have a couple of questions. First, how would Old Glory work to was my black SUV every couple of weeks. I lice in a dirt road and always have some dirt and sometimes mud in it? Second, the rubber dressing. Does it dry completely and not attract dirt? I tried another parts house brand of tire dressing and it didn’t dry! One trip down my dirt road and my tires and trim was covered with dust and dirt! Not happy about that. I think Armour’s and Pan’s dressing is supposed to dry and not attract dust at all. I appreciate your thoughts! Tom
@JamieTheCleaner9 күн бұрын
@@Okie-Tom this one would probably attract dust, I would stick with what you have and diluted Old Glory 10:1-20-1 would work great every 2 weeks

I have personally used snake oil, tire and trim ,heavy duty and there foam soap and I really like all of them but I would recommend diluting the snake oil more to 10:1 or15:1 because for $70 its not a cheap chemical but I have personally used it 10:1 in my foam cannon and I still get great results then for the foam soap 8:1 or 10:1 and if you could try the old glory at 10:1 and it still works good for you then just run it at 10:1 save yourself some money and if you ever get there heavy duty soap run it anywhere from 10:1 to 20:1 on tires BUT it seems to work way BETTER when in a foaming pump sprayer then a traditional spray bottle. but great video love to see more people trying @ChemX

Why do you use Distilled water in your foam cannon and when mixing chemicals does it affect performance?
@JamieTheCleaner12 күн бұрын
@@wyattengland3221 for foam cannons just mix with regular water I just had it out and it was just easier to pour with the jug than the hose. If your storing products in a 5 gallon container or 32oz bottle distilled water is the way to go so the chemical last longer and stable with out the risk of mineral contamination from tap water

It’s such a waste of money. Just do the math. 1 32oz bottle of snake oil and you can do it roughly 5 maybe 6 vehicles. At $70/bottle that’s almost $12 each application to a vehicle. Idk about you but there are FAR better and cheaper options of protection that a diluted down foam on application
@TannerBobbitt12 күн бұрын
I would strongly encourage you to use the Griot's Garage metering tips! Chem-X suggests a p.i.r. of 100:1. The metering tips will allow you to do 3x the amount of vehicles. Thus, bringing the cost way down.
