Honestly, I can see how period products with stereotypical pointlessly gendered masculine marketing could be really useful to trans guys. For some it might make the dysphoria worse because it's reminding them they're a guy having a period, but for some I'm sure it'd be less dysphoria inducing than the same products in pointlessly gendered feminine packaging. Personally I'd like period products to do away with the pointlessly gendered packaging altogether, it's bad enough my period reminds me I have a binary physical sex and the ability to have children, I don't need the packaging my pads come in to remind me most people have a static binary gender too.
@fluffystuff500
@fluffystuff500 Жыл бұрын
@@katanah3195 That's a very good point. I love the idea of products that trans people use either not being gendered or being gender affirming for some. I'm not trans myself, but I know that the dysphoria that comes with periods is pretty troublesome for the trans men I'm friends with, so I think it would be good to find an easy way, like a change of packaging on gendered products, to lessen that.

My dad, despite being married to my mom for 30 years and always doing our groceries, still takes pictures of the packaging of my period products on his phone because otherwise he ends up panicking in the store from all the options. Since gay men don't usually have to worry about impregnating their partners, the idea that a vasectomy makes a man gay is so ridiculous. Also, if a trans woman is planning to have bottom surgery it seems a little redundant to have a vascectomy, so I am not sure where they are going with it being a trans surgery. So apparently to some, it's not just women who are reduced to their ability to have children as their only value, but now men as well. The idea that there is something wrong with wanting to have a healthy sex life with your partner without having any (or any more) kids is so bizarre to me.

I remember reading about research (a long time ago) that female partners of men with micropenis (clinically small) reported MUCH higher rates of sexual satisfaction than men with large penises. The theory was that they knew how to communicate with and please their partner while the guys with big equipment thought that was enough and didn't learn any other skills than just shoving it in.
@BlueTressym
@BlueTressym Жыл бұрын
I'd agree with that. So often 'big' is conflated with 'good' that boys with big ones grow up into men who think they don't need to make an effort to please their partners because more penis = more pleasure. The owners of smaller ones are more likely to put in the effort to make up for their perceived flaw.

Woman engaged to a man with a less-than-average size, especially when soft. He is an angel in the bedroom, always more worried about me than about himself. If he gets tired before he's done, it's fine to stop there, but he counts how many times I hit the pinnacle and holds himself to a minimum number of those (which I've told him not to do, but I'm pretty sure he still does). Some get longer and thicker when erect, so they don't necessarily have to fit in underwear at full size (as long as you're careful). I used to think everyone knew that, but apparently not. in addition to the other responses, folks with big dicks tend to wear boxers, so their dick just hangs to one side or the other, which is why pants' inseam lengths can be pretty important. although there are big dick havers that wear briefs, boxer briefs, and trunks, and those just kinda involve gentle folding in some direction, and it doesn't hurt bc flaccid dicks are pretty malleable.

A lot of the time urinary incontinence in older women is the result of past pregnancies - there are a whole variety of things that pregnancy and childbirth can do to the body, such as uterine prolapse etc. So I think the terf was claiming that having this problem showed that she was a “real” woman 😝. My husband had his vasectomy for the most “straight” reason imaginable. I couldn’t be approved for necessary surgery unless we had permanent contraception in place but it was deemed too risky for me to have an additional surgery to tie my tubes. Admittedly, he has never wanted to “create a legacy”, but it’s still very much not something that made him trans or gay that he chose to undergo an invasive procedure for the sake of his wife.

On the brain development thing: The reason that moves around is that it depends what part of the brain you pick. Brains are never actually 'fully developed', they're made of lots of different systems that all develop and fall off at different rates. Some bits peak at 20, some bits at 25, some bits at 40, some bits at 7 and some abilities continue improving across the entire unless you get a neurodegenerative condition (or at least they continue up past 90 and we don't have much data from 100+ year olds). The additional problem is that brains are dynamic organs. How you use them greatly influences what they can do and how they do it. So the idea that there's a fixed age that brain bits become finished at is totally off base. If you do maths for ten years at school, then stop doing maths, your brain is going to reallocate resources and your abilities will drop. This can be super granular too. One study I found showed that children were better at maths questions phrased in exam formats, but adults did better if you framed them as shopping calculations (even in that the adults in the test did better if asked the question in a shopping centre). And of course all of this varies wildly person to person and transculturally (as different culturers often have separate expectations for how to approach particular problems which effect what order they develop skills in and how those skills interact. Piagetian Syllogisms don't tend to work in studies many cultures for example, where syllogisms aren't as valued a form of interaction. This doesn't mean 'the brain isn't developed' rather it means that you have to approach 'brain development' as a thing that's culturally shaped, because the brain is a social organ engaged in the culture. And we also have to be aware that a lot of that developmental literature, is actually a smokescreen various white supremacies [this isn't intentional on Piagets part, to my knowledge, but it's definitely been used that way. Piaget just happened to be particularly interested in western logic and so he's vulnerable to a lot of the issues western epistemologists often are. In fact he was just studying children, because they were opportunistic way to study logical structures]). Also I regret to inform you, that no *it* isn't a muscle. The relevant muscles involved in erections are just the cremaster and bulbospongiusus (I have definitely misspelled that). They compress some veins to fill spongy tissue up with blood, and it's that spongey tissue which does the work. Those muscles are pretty small and inside the body, so they probably wouldn't have any impact on appearance. I can't think of a way to exercise them either, other than maybe peeing really hard. This is not a fact I thought I'd ever need to retrieve :|

The spongiform tissue fills with blood making it hard, but the only muscle muscles are the pelvic muscles around it which is why clenching can make it Twitch but you can't control when it "tenses" like you can actual muscles. It's very clear to me and anyone with half a working brain that the people who try to get you to play mind games and guess what they want and chase after them are just insecure and the opposite of the kind of person you should want to be with. If you're not secure in your worth as a person, of course you'd want someone to "prove" they really want you that badly.

6:16 Actually, Sad Fact: the gay male community _does_ have a misogyny problem. It's just not the same as the hetero/patriarchy version.

yeah, it can present itself in some different ways because there is no sexual gratification aspect, but I've definitely met moreee than one misogynistic gay man, including a misogynistic gay trans man! so that's fun.

@@AliceBunny05 A misogynistic trans man actually makes more sense than most people might think. Like, there's a complete rejection and hatred of all things "feminine" happening there. Or an externalization and projection of their own dysphoria.

The vasectomy one is so wild to me because my best friend doesn't want to be pregnant nor does she want kids. Her husband also doesn't want children. Between a vasectomy and tube tying, the vasectomy was the easier option and least likely between the two to get denied. Sterilization isn't a bad thing. I know I'd feel so much anxiety and dysphoria relief if I could get a hysterectomy. Also not sure why people are so obsessed with legacies. A legacy is in the memories and marks you've made on the world in the living memory of people not in the production of children. Like y'all ain't royalty with lands or political power to bequeath your descendants. I really feel like it's a strange class/power romanticism thing mixed with this weird Christian-cultural drive to populate and spread the "Good" Word.

From what I learned the 2 question thing is something neurotipical people do xD when I text my autistic and adhd friends a couple questions they answer all of them, and so do I, but when I send it to my neurotipical friends, they will only answer the last one and I don't understand why, and I'm so annoyed!

I thought pee was stored in the balls when I was a really little kid. It just made logical sense to me with the information I had available to me. Also, my level of knowledge at the time was such that I didn't know what balls were called, or that not everyone has them.

01:33 That post was hating on trans people, with the idea being that the woman you want to date may actually be a man (transwoman) or may eventually identify as male (transman), unless that woman has had children. The children are supposed to assure you that she has "natural woman parts" and is not secretly trans.

I feel like the "We repair what your husband fixed." is more referencing when something breaks in the home and the wife says "Let's call a repairman." And the husband goes "We're not spending money on a repairman! I can fix this!" And then it turns out he can't and finally, after letting him try his best the wife calls a professional.

Gents, this was the laugh I needed today, you're both hilarious. As for the very first post, I'm pretty sure she's saying if a woman doesn't have kids there's a chance she's a trans woman which, I can tell you from personal experience, still isn't enough for transphobes. I have three children of my own and they still like to tell me I'll never be a ReAl wOmAn and at this point I'm like "yeah you're probably right."

PSA about the lotion thing. Be careful what you apply to your genitalia regardless of what you have. Besides being pretty sensitive to irritation all kinds of genitals absorb stuff topically more readily than normal skin. You can poison yourself by applying excessive amounts of medicated creams.

Absolutely, gay men are probably the best audience for the "bigger is better" idea but even then I'd say most of them wouldn't agree either. Women, at least in the hole that's primarily preferred by most, have got an end! That is usually quite painful when it's prodded at! Also, all women have different vaginal length/depth, learn something new every day. Some women can be incapable of taking over a certain amount without significant pain, while others can tolerate or like it much better because of the difference in anatomy.
