I’m in the closet. My Nan knows I “prefer” boys clothes so she gave me money to by trousers when I was out today. My dad tried to get me to get leggings or girls trousers but I got him to let me get what I went there for. It was 2 for £16 so I got black trousers and grey trousers both from Slazenger. I was happy. Now I have 4 trousers! My dad said I needed new shoes so he made me look at girls shoes and obviously I hated them. He took me to the men’s section and I found some I liked. I had to get them in the juniors section because size 6 is apparently a kids size. It’s black with some red on. My dad got me them so I’m happy. My mum may be catching onto the fact I’m trans.. idk tho. I literally go to an LGBT club and she knows I hate girls clothes.. she even said a few weeks ago I’m allowed to wear something like a suit to prom! Edit: I have loads of boys t-shirts. I have two girls shirts but they look more like boys ones so I wear them layered rarely

My whole entire wardrobe comes from the boys section, but most of them look androgynous cause my mom has to approve of it. My mom does want me to get more feminine clothes though, so that I can give my sister my clothes after I’m done with them. I legit wore a suit (borrowed a friend’s) to a school ball. You can’t get any less lady like than wearing a suit to a ball.

Here are some of the tricks / tactics I use: - I buy slightly oversized t-shirts so that they wont kling to the sides of my torso. That way it looks like my torso is square (/ a dorito). - Then I sag my pants a bit so that they are on the widest point (my hip bones). This way you don't see this widening by the hips. - I buy slim fit tapered jeans that way they get more narrow from this widest point down (which completes the dorito) and you won't see stuff like thighs with estrogen fat distribution. - In terms of shirts I usually go for ones with a bit of a stiffer material. This way I can win a couple of centimeters on the shoulder with by the shirt standing out a bit. This also works really well with jean jackets and even with some bulkier hoodies. - I always actually button my shirts all the way (which contradicts with what Jammi says) because I think it makes my shoulders look wider by increasing the distance from the collar to the edge of my shoulder. - Lastly I almost always, unless its really cold, have my sleeves up above my elbows because in my mind it makes the whole shoulder and upper arm portion look bigger, which might even just be because it puts it next to my tiny underarms. I hope this is useful to someone. If you have some tips yourself, leave them right in the comments of this comment, that way we can collect them all.

THE SCIENCE OF COMFORTABLY PASSING:
@jodiewolfe81105 жыл бұрын
What I like to do is grab a button up that's one size too big (so for me, an XS in mens fits well, so I would choose a size S) and then button it up most or all of the way, roll the sleeves to 3/4 length, and then add a nice jacket or even a tie to the look depending on how fancy you want to be. Another tip is if you're short like me (I'm 4'11) buying chunky shoes like Jamie said or cuffing your jeans really thick (not small cuffs, large ones) tends to help widen your feet and lengthen your legs. Definitely stay away from things that are too long/too oversized because it can make you appear smaller! Good luck out there dudes

This year, I’m going to try to make more risky choices with my style and fashion, including kilts, leggings, sequins, sheer fabrics, and so on. Dare I say, for Pride in June I’ll try a crop top? The voice naturally changes pitch somewhat throughout the day anyway, so some of the changes you're hearing may depend on things like what time of day Jamie recorded the video, if he's previously been speaking a lot or not, ie whether or not his vocal chords are warmed up, also if he's standing or sitting as posture can affect the voice too, ditto if you're tense or relaxed, or have over-used your voice recently, like shouting in a noisy environment for a long time etc. Edit: or having a cold - lol You can learn how to project a more resonant possibly slightly deeper tone though - there are probably videos & voice coaching articles on how to improve your speaking voice.

His fingers are long but really slim. He's about 6' 2", really long , skinny arms and legs and long in the body. You look great, Jamie! Much Love, as always, from Ontario, Canada 🍁... Keli💖

You're exactly the same shape as my fiance (cishet) 😂 he also has all these problems - my hands look bigger because my palms are wider. He's found Japanese brands tend to fit and give that Dorito shape, while also having the length you want. You looked so cool in all the clothes! Especially liked the last t-shirt - very grunge/casual 😊

As someone who is a baby trans and likes a mix of traditionally feminine and masc clothes, I love that you show how clothes truly don't have a gender and that a trans man can rock outfits society might deem feminine, like skinny jeans. For example, I kind of like maxi skirts and skinny jeans and comfy oversized sweaters. However, I am in the phase of "If I cannot pass in public, I am not wearing it in pubic" whether I like it or not. Hopefully, I will be more comfortable with it one day :)

I love the trans education. It's VERY IMPORTANT!! It's also helpful for those of us who aren't so we can be more trans sensitive. Also, I just think you're a cool individual in general.

My issue is some tops i'm L and others i'm XL or 2XL. I also find that a lot of shops have lack of choice in mens tops as they seem to think we all like plain black, grey or white. I am also weird as i also like glitter/sparkles (i've always liked them. Pretending as a woman as a kid and now as an adult male). I also like flowery shirts. I sometimes get upset when we go clothes shopping and i can't find anything nice whereas my sister can find a new outfit almost everytime. For boottom due to medical problems i can be size 18 skinny and it will be too big or other days will be straight leg size 20 that's too tight. Also i have to buy womans jeans (big bottom). 😫. I think they need to be more experimental with mens clothes so we can have more choice. Also i get the whole "i prefer clothes to be more baggy", especially with hoodies. I also loooove big pockets. Lol. Xx

im a trans guy that likes very girly clothes... literally my mind is so annoying because i really only feel comfortable with he/him pronouns and i see myself as a guy, i have done that my whole life basically. but im really interested in japanese fashion and i look at a lot of crossdressing clothes and outfits, i really enjoy wearing kneehigh socks fishnets or whatever.. it just if i wear it outside of my room i can get dysphoric and im really scared if people get the wrong feeling. i don't know if this is just a phase with liking girly and feminine clothing, but it bothers me a lot because im scared people will call me a 'transtrender' or whatever, i know it's a dumb phrase but it affects me a lot :/ i want to call myself a crossdresser (so im a male that dresses up as a girl sometimes) but i don't even know if i can be called that since im not cis... anyway sorry for writing this long comment, that no one is probably gonna see, but it's been on my mind for a long time.

Hey Jamie! I really like your clothing haul videos as you are very stylish. I, on the other hand, wonder what you think about giveaways and second-hand use of clothes. Many trans person doesn’t have opportunites to reach those kind of clothes out but you do shopping a lot and I thought you may help others too. I’m in another country so I’m asking this for the British audience. Just wondering. Keep up the good work xx

Doc Martins are your friends for chunky shoes. Even for us cis guys, if you outside the average in any way, you have to really look around. I have a collection of short sleeved shirts because my overlong arms make it difficult to find long sleeved shirts that fit right. You get sleeves long enough, the body is overly baggy. I have skis for feet, US 13/UK 12.5 but narrow, so finding casual shoes is what I get but finding a pair of penny loafers the price shoots up because of limited sources. One thing I'd suggest is make a good friend who loves to sew. :)

I love to see how we have opposite problems when looking for clothes XD (trans man here as well). I am very short so all the pants are like a feet too long most of the time. I do feel the hate for hips, I have the same problem there tho. I also have large arms and a large neck for my size, so finding clothes are super hard if I do not want to look like a kid wearing his dad's shirts by taking size a lot larger. Most shirts, I am not able to button all the way to the top if I want to (so for a cleaner look ... we have to forget about that) - my neck does not fit in shirts that are my size. I would love to see fashion expand on the body types they do stuff for ... yes we have sizes but not everybody as the same proportions and it does make it hard as soon as you do not fit the 'standard' they have set up. I am pre-op and still wearing a binder, so hoodies are my friends, along side V neck t-shirts added with an open hoodie or vest... but t-shirts often have such a thin fabric that even there it is hard to find something that does not show the binder ... Anyway, thanks for this video, it feels great to hear somebody else talk about these things and understand. And also gives me hope seeing how much you have gone through your transition. I am happy for you, its awesome =)

The too-short jeans came with rolled up cuffs on the legs. If they were that way when you decided to get them, I'd guess you're not opposed to such a thing, so a fairly seamless-looking way to add more length would be to make it look like the bottom is rolled up. This would have the problem of not actually being able to unroll it without showing the seam, and of course the annoying necessary step of finding denim in a close enough shade, but if you like everything else about the jeans this might be worthwhile.

I feel it’s harder to dress for trans people who don’t “pass” as easily for their gender: for example, a super curvy, shorter transman or a super tall and muscular-looking transwoman. What do you think? Interesting video: trans “passing.”

@@sawyer3715 do you mean air max? I have air forces and they don't really make me that much taller. You can also buy boots like timberlands (altho you risk being precieved as butch lesbian). And uhm. Hoodies to hide em curves. Mens hoodies have less shape. And cheaper womens hoodies if size is an issue. (Better womens hoodies tend to have more shape). No one will see the difference between a mans and womans hoodie that doesn't have a lot of shape. It's just a hoodie. When i wear my bfs hoodie my bff once asked "do you have a new hoodie?" ( I am a cis woman. Althooo i am 5'6. Which is average here. He is 4 inches taller. And it looks kinda ok. He wears medium (or probably small in US sizing) so chances are that you'll be able to find good clothes for yourself. No shame in shopping gender neutral stuff at the womens tho. I have a few guy friends with a small frame that do that.
