A RARE moment in time! When a proffesional piano musician visits at The Masquerade - we unbury the piano that has been covered in quilts and quilting supplies for 30 years, and this is what we get!
Big thanks to John Moore on piano, and Jim Viau on harp!
Back story - Jim used to jam with the original owner of this piano 40 years ago. The original owner called us in a panic 32 years ago and said his wife was getting rid of this "piece of junk piano" and replacing it with a new "beautiful piece of furniture" smaller one - that he wasn't happy about. He said "She is putting my baby out on the curb!! Please, PLEASE come rescue her and keep her for me!"
So we got a crew together - borrowed a truck, and it landed in our home. Was moved all over our unfinished basement while we were working on the renovations until it landed in a corner of The Masquerade studio. We don't know how to play it! So we have been keeping it for Jonas, and have lost touch with him over the years. Out of tune, but obviously still a lot of fun. This jam brought back fond memories for my husband Jim.
John Moore is the husband of a "frequent flyer" quilter who has been coming into The Masquerade for years and talking about her very musical husband. We have been wanting to get our husbands together for quite a while now. This is the first time they have ever met! What a match!! LOL
