1. How does this compare to Monoprice 12" 150 watts 9723 subwoofer? 2. Do 2 of these or 2 monoprice 9723 ones in 5.2 setup come any close to 5.1 setup with 1 svs entry level sb-1000 or pb-1000 subwoofer? Just curious how much better the svs or higher end subwoofers are compared to this or Monoprice ones.

1) Monoprice is slightly better, more internal volume and can go down to 25Hz. The Jamo can go only as low as 36hz. 2) I am not a big fan of low end monoprice stuff so an svs outlet sale pb1000 will be a better option for sure.. I will be doing a video comparing subwoofers using measurements and show you guys frequency response curves.

@@starazure since you mentioned about the low end stuff, please try the 10565 5.1 set for test. I have had it for 10+ years with Sony DH 540 receiver and I felt it was a decent entry to mid level setup. I have a Bose acoustimass 10 IV setup too so I was surprised how good Monoprice 10565 sounded to me for $100-$150 depending on the sale.

I was not expecting everything to be on the bottom. I was able to pick up a used RSL Speedwoofer 10S Mk1 last week, the previous sub a polk 10” i bought 15 years ago and it only lasted a year. I have been upgrading my system so re learning everything.

@@starazure I had a STR DH720 15 years ago and someone gave me a STR DH810 10 years ago i , but I just got a STR DH790. Using 15 year old 1 center, 2 tower 5 book shelf Fluance SX HTB+ speakers But I ordered a SVS Prime Center I think overall this should be pretty decent for a while. The living room is shared with the dining room but the portion im using with a Samsung QN85B for movies is 10x12x8

That's a very nice setup. That Prime center will give you better dialogue clarity although I needed to up the receiver calibrated volume by an extra db or two!!

@@starazure thanks ill keep that in mind, I think the 3 way should widen the seating area I have a rocking chair near the couch that is outside of the reach of the 2 way center.

Yes well said. Prime center was a drastic improvement from numerous 2 way speakers I tested. Once I went 3 way, I never went back to 2 way ! Take care !

Yea it's annoying but with subwoofers it's set it once and forget it. The only thing you may need to fiddle is subwoofer's volume which you can adjust in the receiver. But I agree it's a pain to make any changes but for $89🤑 .. 😀

The rubber feet are stickers you put on yourself so you can make the wiring come out the back by just putting the feet on the non-wooden panels. I didn't even realize I did it wrong until I saw this video. I just assumed the knobs and wires come out the back and put the feet on accordingly
